Oh geez. This screams mania and/or paranoia and I honestly feel bad for her because she’s going untreated and obviously unmedicated. When I’m manic I think I can communicate with God and I’ve always been a stone cold atheist. So its not surprising to me that someone would think the lights are listening if coincidences kept happening like that to a manic person. It honestly makes me a little sad that all she got were laugh reacts.

Yeah, very much agreed. I also think of corporations as superintelligent agents.. superintelligent in making profit at least. And this is the result of uncontrolled capitalism. It is absolutely wild that humanity has let this happen, but at the same time totally understandable and not surprising thinking where we came from and how we evolved to be etc.

Fair enough. But then I hope all of these posts will be removed:

Just seems like either all Trump indictment posts should be removed for being unrelated to NYC (or perhaps all but one) because if we're going to allow half a dozen of these to be posted each day, then why can't we have a megathread to clean it up?

I had a lady do this to me once - I had an old 66 Buick and I parked next to her, and she came back saying I hit her. She was already parked when I drove up I have a big metal bumper and she's in a 90's plastic-mobile. NO WAY I touched her.

So I'll suggest the same thing you do that I did:

If you think you did something, take responsibility

If you think you didn't do it, honestly, then ignore it, and sleep well at night.

I take responsibility for mistakes I MAKE, but I"m not taking responsibility when I didn't.

Do you find it ironic that understanding Burry’s predictions requires some ability to think critically?

The people capable of understanding his predictions don’t need them; Those who don’t understand them are the ones who gamble on them.

Instead of agreeing with burry because we understand him we erect the church of Burry and pray to him for answers

Acceptable or not - immortality is a terrible idea, on a personal, societal, and species level. You definitely should die. Everyone should.

Your analogy falls flat - murder isn't a natural cause of death. Cell death is. It is something you will experience. We all will. And that's all right.

There's no such thing as immortality. Resources aren't infinite, so it can't be for everyone. The sun is going to burn out at some point. The universe is going to go cold at some point. You will - sooner or even much, much later - die. The problem becomes how many others have to die prematurely to support a few semi-immortal rich folks. Inequality is a problem now. I don't think we ought to be leveraging tech to make it worse.
