Starlink still needs ground stations for each connection, no? Besides, are we realistically even looking at that many stations?

If you don't plan what to do with your money, it will disappear via lifestyle inflation. Anytime you get a pay increase, decide how much will go to discretionary items and how much to save and invest. Make sure your are contributing enough to your retirement savings, save more on the side and so on. For your discretionary spending, budget accordingly, and beware of common lifestyle creep areas (cars, clothing, food, housing).
As for the "acts of kindness", it's a good thing to remain charitable, but do it wisely, and consider the impact. If you go and help in your local food bank you could be helping people who are really struggling to get by, whereas if you go to a bar and buy a round of drinks for everyone there, you may be popular for that evening, but you are not really helping anyone in the long run. When you do acts of kindness, ask yourself if it's for your ego, or for the other person's benefit. You could even consider doing it anonymously.

With the birds, if you slid it over even one row of the pattern it would be the same shape, with the hats you’ve got to go over 10 rows and down 2 to get the pattern to even be similar that means how far would you have to go straight over for the pattern to repeat on the same row, and that’s using one shape.

Reply to comment by CrookedGrin78 in ELI5: If benzodiazepines are CNS depressants, why is it so hard to die from a overdose of them alone? by psychrolute
its likely that the effects of one are potentiating the effects of the other. The bigger issue is a persons response to the drug and how their body metabolizes it. I am not a physician just some with a keen interest in pharmacology. CNS is your central nervous system, this system control much more than just breathing, certain drugs may affect the heart more while others affect the breathing more. the issue becomes troubling when the cns is suppressed enough that one of sub systems (breathing or heart) becomes so low that it either stop functioning and arrest begins or in some cases it may be that they are both still "functioning" but not properly and hypoxia can set in. My understanding with GHB and alcohol is that its the heart rate dropping which causes the dangerous effect.

I probably agree with this for the series of FromSoft Souls-likes as a whole. FromSoft games are so odd to me.
Like, Elden Ring is without a doubt one of the greatest games I’ve ever played. However, the original Dark Souls is without a doubt one of the worst games I’ve ever played. And most of the other entries fall in the middle between ‘ok’ to ‘good’. I’d never thought of any FromSoft game to be above an 8/10 until Elden Ring, which is a legitimate 10/10 for me. I haven’t played every entry in the series, but I’ve played Bloodborne, Dark Souls, and Demon’s Souls with each one of these varying in quality for me. Bloodborne being solid, Demon’s Souls being genuinely pretty good, and (again) Dark Souls being terrible.
Critics and fans seem to never rate any single FromSoft Souls-like game lesser than a 9 or so. But I just don’t get it. The quality is not at all that consistent.

How about the monetary benefits of reduced liability because you can watch your chefs and make sure they are following food safety rules. I've done 3rd party mock health inspections of restaurants and when it gets busy and the new guy, for a real example, then forgets that you can't use the same sink of running water to thaw shellfish and fin fish as this would allow cross-contamination between two major allergens. There's already a lot of real time digital monitoring of kitchen worker's performance in some major chains. Like I can't get them to stop what they are doing so I can open the check the temp of the chill drawer in front of them. They just can't afford to lose the time in preparing your order. Honestly with computer vision and robot dexterity where it's at it doesn't seem like we're too far away from robochefs that can make meals. It won't be able to make everything but it will be able to replace a lot of labor and that will incentivize restaurants to use them and to develop menus that are more robo-friendly.

BGWTB absolutely ruins me. I got the album on release day and have listened to it hundreds of times by now but I have only listened to that track a handful of times as it's difficult for me to get through. Lily Cornell did an amazing cover of it as well.

You sound offended, I think my initial comment had a perfectly reasonable tone. And constructive criticism is a good thing, blanket statements about how horrible things are here (typically exaggerating) are not. I’m actually pretty vocal about wishing city leadership acknowledged these incidents and told us what they are doing to address them. People don’t like him but at least Eric Adams does that.
Have a nice Friday!

I think of "out of context" when only part of Eze 23 is posted, the rest is important too.
Ezekiel 23:17-21 NIV 17 Then the Babylonians came to her, to the bed of love, and in their lust they defiled her. After she had been defiled by them, she turned away from them in disgust. 18 When she carried on her prostitution openly and exposed her naked body, I turned away from her in disgust, just as I had turned away from her sister. 19 Yet she became more and more promiscuous as she recalled the days of her youth, when she was a prostitute in Egypt. 20 There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses. 21 So you longed for the lewdness of your youth, when in Egypt your bosom was caressed and your young breasts fondled.

I came from NJ years ago and I always get a chuckle from people complaining about property taxes here. I mean yeah, they're high, but they're still way less than what they are in the area of NJ that I'm from. To your point, I'll take no sales or income tax mixed with higher property taxes any day, it's still more affordable than a lot of other areas.
