It's possibly a homage to the origin of skate bowls. If that's it the person who designed the sign is a legend!

This is just how mass factory restaurants work. There's a checklist, they follow it to the letter or they get docked by corporate. Everything they do is part of the brand that is eating at Texas Roadhouse that they're trained to do that was all worked out by some kind of marketing team in a lab-restaurant at the corporate headquarters. All of it. Why does the manager come by at precisely that time? Because it's in the script. Why the new baskets of bread? It's in the script. They will do the exact same thing at every Texas Roadhouse location everywhere. Because that's the "Texas Roadhouse Dining Experience".

Have you heard of Mary’s room (the knowledge argument)? Your point about the water bottle and the sensations experienced through English explanation made me think of this paradox. If you could communicate any and all experiences through written language then you would have resolved Mary’s room, however I do not think this is correct.

Reply to Pittsburgh Imagination Library by juliepde
I don't know for sure about this particular program, but I wouldn't be super worried about it. There are TONS of ways for kids to get free books from the local library system, and they actually do a very good job promoting it and distributing items.
If the city chose to eliminate it, I'd be fine with it, considering it's something that the libraries are inherently better-equipped to do.

Yeah I'm from the US and thought a lot of Canada spoke French for quite awhile before learning it was actually a pretty small portion.

Reply to comment by EinFahrrad in Eurozone inflation falls sharply as energy prices drop by misana123
Because it's energy inflation not food or product inflation (although obviously it can also increase the price of food when it costs more to refrigerate the store or transport it to the store). You wouldn't notice it when going shopping you might notice it at the pump or when paying for heating/electricity at the end of the month.

Reply to Boyfriend (22M) seems upset when I(26M) want time alone or to spend time with my grandparents by [deleted]
It sounds like he's bothered that he wasn't invited to be part of the celebration, which I can kind of understand, but I'd need more information to know if that's reasonable or not.
Such as, do your grandparents know you're gay, do they know you're in a relationship, have you met your bfs family, has he met the rest of yours, etc.

Reply to ELI5: The seemingly huge increase in Ticketmaster fee's and why there aren't competitors trying to cash in on the public backlash by undercutting them? by FIuff
The fees are often directly a part of what the venue/artist earns, its just disguised as a fee instead of an upcharge.
Also, Livenation has a near monopoly status on many artists and large venues.
