If you’re looking at different options I got a vintage LL Bean Aron style Irish wool sweater off Poshmark and its legit the nicest warmest sweater I own.
I’m also the same height and wear a medium. Fit is slightly loose but you have to wear a long sleeve tee under it because of the wool so it works.
Here’s one that’s available: https://posh.mk/UURh91JJ1vb

I like the way mine looks, but I’ve I’ve noticed a good bit of wear over the last year of minor usage. I bought through the website as well.

Oh yeah, I'd even go as far as to say that 99% of kitchen appliances from this era would be repairable with some electrical and tinkering experience

I have several of these that I bought years ago from Aran.com and they are great. I also have one that’s 20 years old that I think I bought in their brick and mortar. Either way, the ones from the site are high quality. And fuck Amazon.

I think the real issue here was and insufficient amount of butter in the potatoes. 50/50 is the proper ratio /s (but not really /s)

I’ve been slowly accumulating enamel cast iron—Le Creuset and Staub. Pricy, but you can find good sales, and it’s definitely BIFL. Stuff is amazing.

Reply to Online Stores Reliability by [deleted]
With regards to Darn Tough, REI's going to be a reliable place for any of the brands they carry. Their return policy is god-tier too, especially if you live close to a physical store. I'm done shilling now.

Scams is a harsh word for it, but they almost all mass produced as cheaply as possible.

It’s labeled as Merino wool, I’ve heard that doesn’t hold up as well as other wool? I really want something that’ll last me years and years, even if I sacrifice a little bit of comfort.

Depends on the seller. Most of Amazon's sellers are now Chinese, with clothing going by Chinese "brand" names of clothing. There must be (almost literally) a million "brand" names of clothing made in China. So, is it really an Aran sweater?

One more vote for SBL. My wife and I own numerous products from 2009 until present. The warranty is completely legit too. First wallet got salt water on it, which didn’t hurt the wallet at all. But the salt embedded in it made it start messing up the mag strips on my cards. Called to ask how to clean the salt out, and they said “What’s your new address?” No questions asked they sent me a new wallet and told me to feel free to keep the salty one too. I also have a large briefcase from 2010 that has been used like mad and still looks awesome. Wife has a tote and the large travel wallet. We also have a few smaller items. All of it is perfect and completely BIFL worthy

I bought a Hurley International passecase wallet made out of canvas and leather sometime after enlisting, so early 2000s and it was still in pristine condition up until a couple years ago when it was stolen. I really miss that thing. From the waters of Hawaii and Alaska to Pensacola and various washing machines, it took a lot of abuse. I often forgot to take it out of my pocket and it never cared.
Losing a wallet you carried forever is impossible to replace. I feel for you.

I have gotten things I've used heavily, like the "Ove" Glove, but overall I'd say quality is usually low

I agree that sounds like a good idea but not too many leather brands around Long Island, New York.

I bought the set Tefal Ingenio Extreme I absolutely love it. Costs about 120€, made in France, doesn't take up space since the handles are detachable, and goes to the oven and the freezer. I've had them for a year, they look new.
