What would you use to take scuffs out of and develop character in something like these.

I got Brickmore leather conditioner, but it only looks good for a little bit.

I don’t mind scuffing, but these look “distinguished,” whereas my hiking boots just look like they’ve been through some shit.

I would not trust an Amazon retailer. I have purchased several sweaters from Aran.com and had one experience where a sweater was sent to me as the wrong size: I ordered a small and a medium sweater was sent to me. The original tag had been cut off and a small tag had been put on it. We washed it and shrunk it to avoid having to return it, but generally I would feel more comfortable buying from Aran themselves.

I will also say you could get one on Ebay first to see how you like them, and also maybe avoid the $35 flat-rate shipping fee. There are tons of Aran sweaters on ebay.

I asked in /r/mensfashion and got turned into Allen Edmonds. My oldest pair is going on 11 years with two resoles and still look great. They are spendy, but compared to going through dress shoes every six months, I've probably saved a grand or more by now.

I've had my Doc Marten 1461 shoes for 25 years. They require a good polish every now and then but are otherwise dependable.

When I bought them, I worked a 40hr/wk office job, was attending Uni, and worked a 20hr/week retail job. They are still the most comfortable shoes ever.

They're also great all weather shoes.
