This makes me want a classic again. Love the comments about how people use iTunes (and YouTube etc) to get their music for their device. I do that with my phone & iTunes library of soooo much music anyway, really need to add songs, I don’t need Spotify or whatever streaming service, what a waste of money.

No, it's been an ongoing issue since early 2000s AFAIK. All for maximising profits and reduce the price on products.

Agreed, that no-button shuffle was garbage: small capacity, no controls, and constant shuffle so the next song was always a craps shoot. I doubt the people downvoting you ever used it or were aware of it.
The rising prices for iPods now are because a certain youtuber made it popular to refurb them during the pandemic. In 2019 you could buy the OP's 5th gen for less than $15 USD on eBay.

There's a reason iTunes was considered malware for PCs. If you still have your music library, try using Rockbox instead. The website has lots of user info and the forums and r/rockbox should answer most questions.

This is good advice. I have some nice Cole Haan dress shoes that have held up very well over about 6 years of going into the office dressed up. They've been worn a lot, and have had the soles repaired once which bred a whole new life into them.
Look into shoes that are repairable. Maybe talk to a local shoe repair store for recommendations in your climate as well.
As others have mentioned, shoes to rotate in use will reduce the wear on all of them.

They aren't. Apple is programming their phones to reject third party repair forcing the owner to go to apple for everything, meaning apple controls pricing, features and parts availability. Hugh Jeffreys does good teardown and repair assessments on lots of tech products, including apple. Regarding the other comment about iFixit, Jeffreys calls out iFixit (a sponsor) for their misleading apple repair scores and explains why.

The multiple cataloging of Grateful Dead is triggering. I loved my iPod too but it’s great to live in current times with streaming and not having to manually load music to this thing.

What region are you located? (I may have missed this). But I’d recommend Bassett out of VA for price point and options. You can usually get better prices from an independent retailer than a bigger store.

second the lovesac couch! we’ve only had ours for 6 months but haven’t had any issues with it. we’re looking forward to keeping it for a long time. we live near a showroom, so we were able to see and feel the different fillings and fabric and that helped a lot.
i suppose one of the things is that it gets a little lumpy every several weeks BUT we don’t mind taking 5 min fluffing/flipping the cushions when we notice it. i think that’s normal to do though (?)(our first couch!!) after that though everything is fine!
it’s super convenient being able to configure them the way you want!! we have it as a normal L sectional and then make it into a pit for movie nights during the weekends.
their customer support was also really good to us. after ordering, my bf saw there was a coupon in his email and instead of canceling the order and applying the coupon, he just asked if they could apply it and they were fine doing so. also when the couch first shipped, there was one box that had its silica gel packet burst somehow. they sent a replacement while having someone come pick up the damaged box.

I'm shocked your lasted this long. Mine died after like 2 years, and even the nano my dad handed down didn't make it more than 3.

My husband just put my 2006 video iPod through the washing machine last week because my toddler had tossed it in the laundry hamper... Saddest day, it was a gold mine of pirated music.
