I'm not really sure how long they last, but if you have a small kitchen, a pressure cooker like Instant Pot can combine a lot of functionality into one device. I use mine all the time for cooking rice, making soup, and braising meats, all in less time than it would take on the stovetop.

Sorrell are absolute garbage now. Had a pair that barely lasted one winter before the rubber toe area started cracking (where it creases from walking). Bought at the end of a winter. Worn the next winter so they were not covered by the 12 month warranty. Got to love that 12 month warranty on a pair of $160 boots. Especially considering they were worn no more than 100 times.

My Sperry duckboots have been great. They have solid construction and are pretty easy to style with clothes imo. They're modeled after the ones popularized by L.L. Bean, but they're less costly. I can't speak to multi-year longevity yet, but perhaps someone else can?

My wife and I each use an AirSleeve by Scrubba, which provides a lot of additional protection. We travel perpetually and have been doing so for years. So they see continual use, and they still look new.

I replaced my boot laces with paracord. They've lasted about 10 months and are now starting to fall apart. I used heat shrink on each end. Not sure if paracord laces should last longer than that, definitely not bifl for me. Maybe my paracord is just shit.

I have a leap v2 refurbished by Crandall . They put a bit more padding in the seat and back and cover it with very nice fabric.

I think the current thinking is that ergonomic chairs should encourage a variety of postures and that is why I love this chair so much. I am 6'3 and use the chair in many positions. Back locked up,back tilted back, sitting on the edge, sitting all the way back.

A chair will not help an injury but I think the steelcase leap/Amia and other top models are the best office chairs ever. I don't like the aeron as much myself.

I also have a Steelcase Leap and I can't stand it. Worst purchase I ever made. It's one of the the most uncomfortable chairs I've ever sat in. There is just zero padding in the seat (it's like sitting on a rock - actually, I've sat on more comfortable rocks than this) and the lumbar is far too aggressive, even when you remove the extra lumbar support.

Just my experience.

I’m not a pro or anything but I have a Zwilling V-Edge Pro that works well with my Henckels. It’s very simple to use and hard to screw up. It’s supposed to work with Japanese and Western knives but I think you need adapters for the rods when sharpening Japanese knives. It comes with 4 ceramic rods - 2 fine and 2 coarse. The rods can be rotated so you can use all four sides and make them last awhile. I use it maybe once or twice a month. Still looks and works great after ~5 years and have yet to rotate the rods.

Buy a pair of Danner Mountain Lights. Mink oil will seal the seams and you can resole them for the rest of your backpacking life. I've had mine for 25 years.

Goretex or other membrane based waterproofing can take a lot longer to dry out if wet and the material will eventually fail. Remember, they are only waterproof to the top of the boot.
