I love my Panama Jack boots (I have the Bambina Igloo model). Really warm, well-made and durable and waterproof if you take good care of the leather (never had a problem). I'm in my third winter with them now, wear them almost every day in rain and snow and they still look like new.

Check out Quartz parkas. Made in Canada, the warmest coat I’ve ever had, very durable. I’ve had mine for 8 years and it looks new. May be a bit out of your price range but they do have some Boxing Day sales.

It really depends on the shape of your body. Chairs are one thing I don't buy online. Instead I go to Staples or some such place and just sit in them all and see what feels best. Often the expensive ones are not even any more comfortable than the cheaper ones.

EZ-Duz-It can opener has a lifetime guarantee when you buy from sierra trading company. You can also buy repair kits for them. I found out about them just this Christmas, so I can’t speak to how long they’ll last. My brother was very excited to tell me that it was the best can opener he’d ever used though. It feels solid. I have high hopes.

How good is the kitchen aid quality these days? When i did i course in machine elements during my engineering studies my professor said that his kitchen aid had broken down after a few years. When he opened up the machine he said that many parts were underdimensioned in witholding forces.

Oster Classic 76.

I actually just upgraded my Classic 76 to the Cordless 76, and like it a lot.

I shave my head about twice a week, and with a 00000 blade on the Cordless, I can do that wherever I please. Usually in the shower at the gym. Keeps cleanup super simple.

I also cut my kids hair with a longer blade than I use, and the cordless is way easier to wrangle.

No regrets on either.

They’re not alone, my HP laptop from 2013 still work like a charm. But I recognise that this is my only example, because usually my devices have been dead for a long time. While at Apple I often hear this kind of echo. even if I don’t really like the apple brand, I must admit that they seem to be doing strong on the durability of their hardware

Thermodynamics can be non-intuitive some times, but the rules are quite simple and don't depend on any "perfect conditions". Anyone who paid attention in a college physics class is rolling their eyes at your willful ignorance. If you're using electricity to heat your home the only things you can do to improve efficiency is improve insulation, selectively heat the rooms you are in, or switch from resistive heating to a heat pump. The fact that your electricity bill went down around the time you made a change to your setup doesn't undo basic scientific facts.
