Great company but I don’t think the socks are great.

Had a few pairs and loved their buy one donate one policy but they feel cheap after couple of wears. Gone back to smart wools.
Don’t think they are BIFL.

Steelcase Criterion. I have one at work that’s 22 years old, and bought two more from a university property dispossession warehouse (a great source for indestructible furnishings). If the pneumatic cartridge in a Steelcase chair fails, it’s very much worth the $50 replacement part.

I heard recently that if you buy Kitchen Aid, buy it directly from them off their website. That in order for them to make a profit on items sold through retailers, the quality for those batches had to be lowered, but the quality of the items through their site was much higher. I cannot say if that is true or not. But I bought a Kitchen Aid directly from them almost 11 years ago and use it multiple times per week. Have barely done any maintenance on it aside from occasional deep cleaning. Still works and looks just like new.

I have the Sennheiser PC38X and it's pretty solid. I use it for meetings so I've never rage quit and hurled it across the room, but it's pretty sturdy. I also like that it's got a mechanical switch that turns off the microphone when you flip it up, so you don't have to click a button or something to mute.

How many layers are in the sole of your mulgas? I suspect that the older mulgas have a simpler yet stronger construction.

My 6 month old pair seem to have a felt foot bed layer that has been stitched/cemented down between the leather upper and the lasting board. It is much weaker than the layers above and below it, so it has disintegrated at the ball of the foot. I think that I'll struggle to get another month of use out of them before the felt drops out and leaves gaping holes.

I use my stainless steel julienne peeler often for salads and such, a good quality citrus squeezer, and a good stainless zester for everything from garlic to parm cheese. Small items that do big jobs.
