Hey all, I have various injuries (etc.) and one of the most helpful things to do is apply cold. So I've tested a lot of stuff.
This is what I've been using for the past five years. It's not quite perfect as it leaks slightly at the neck, but it is much, much more durable than other ice bags. I've only managed to break one of them and that was by freezing it nearly solid and then slamming it against a metal sink HARD. This made sharp fragments sturdy enough to get through the rubber. (The rubber should be thicker IMO to be truly BIFL.) But I'd already done the same thing many times without issue, so that's pretty incredible. As an added bonus, it can also be used for hot water. And it's cheap ($10).
It is incredibly useful to be able to pop a warm bag back in the freezer to refreeze, as anyone who needs this much icing down will understand. Ditto having a single, compact item that lasts for years and does both hot and cold. Most ice bags out there are cloth glazed with plastic, and when you freeze them the ice crystals rip holes in the plastic and then they're garbage. Those cannot be refrozen, and forget about using them for heat.
For a truly BIFL cold/heat therapy, get something like this. (Technically it's an enema bag, but in my house growing up, it was a "hot water bottle".) I haven't bothered trying it for ice, because I ice knees/shoulders and it's too flat to be effective (I use a combo of ice and water in my bags, allowing me to nearly encapsulate my aching joints).
They do still make new ones. My parents' one is 50 years old and still in use.

The only left handed cutters and sewers I know have adapted to using their right hands for cutting, using what’s available.

However, what you’re asking for is “True Left Handed” or “Reverse Bladed” dressmaking shears.

I’m pretty sure Kai reverses the blades on their left handed versions, at least they do of the higher end models (7000-series Professional models). Here’s a quick Amazon search of some 10”er’s

I am loving the down-home, made locally in the South, red white and blue everywhere marketing of a company founded by an American born to Dutch & Iranian parents who studied abroad in Rotterdam and got married on the French Riviera.

I also don't see a knife factory in their hometown, believe it or not Virginia Boys LLC, Virginia Boys Kitchens, Corporate Expansion Organizers International, Influxion Point, and Arousing Appetites are all simply registered to a $7million dollar house in Virginia.

Support local amirite?

I have some old aluminum pots that I bought at an estate sale in the 1990s. I use them occasionally for various thing since they have built in handles, which are convenient for picking blueberries. I know they must be at least 100 years old. I have my grandmother's large pottery mixing bowl, which is also at least 100 years old, and still in service.

"For life" mostly depends on how old you are yourself.

I love my haflingers with the cork soles. I’ve worn them daily as slippers for about 6 months, many hours per day (I work from home). They’ve held up well and don’t smell however I did notice some stitching coming loose on the trim near one heel. I’m hoping to get a few years out of them but don’t see them lasting indefinitely. I’ll most likely buy another pair when these wear out because the arch support is great.

I think the ones from discount stores like Target have more plastic. Some of them have more metal. I've worked in various kitchen stores and can tell the difference in the weight. I hope you got a good one that lasts a long time! I love their Empire Red line 🙂
