Yeah I’m gonna empty it out tonight pad it with either towels or a blanket and try putting them back in hopefully it’ll hold up now and it wont rip anymore it was an expensive bag. I have weights in there as well on top of the rocks the problem is i just don’t have enough of them as I’d like haha that is a good point about the water jugs though I’ll see if I can try and incorporate that to

I have one that extends to probably 15 feet that I bought at home depot. Seems solid. Gets so little use I'm sure it will last super long. Takes multiple attachments, very handy.

It does stretch and get more comfortable than they are when new, they break in to your feet nicely, but even after break-in I think the foam ones were more comfortable before and after they broke-in. I still have both pairs though so I use both for different things, I tend to not wear the leather ones when I’m doing anything wet. Fine for desert hikes though. You mentioned hiking so that’s a good point, at the end of a long day of walking or hiking in them, I tended to notice my feet being less comfortable and I would switch to the old foam ones once I got home for walking around the house.

Fwiw, I've had two pairs of rainbows and both held up extremely well. Longer than my Reef's by a long margin. I destroyed the first pair of rainbows after 4 yrs of basically all day, daily use through college, but the second pair is probably 8 years old and going very strong.

But plenty of experience with other wool garments. I don't need to get personally screwed to know that anyone spending $600+ on a single wool shirt is getting screwed. It sounds like the only thing it has going for it compared to other wool garments is that it's softer. Which, given that this item isn't even meant to be a base layer, doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me.

For rubber boots, Baffin makes good industrial boots. We have quite a few of their various models for different things and they've all been good.

For leather boots, I just wear Blundstones. I like the winter model or the all-terrains since they have a better sole. They are not quite BIFL-rated but I do get a good three years out of them farming and logging. Better would be CanadaWest, made in Manitoba, but they don't make my size. (The men's sizes don't go small enough and the women's don't go wide enough - if you have dude sized feet you'll likely be fine)
