Reply to Micronta Alarm Clock from early 80s (maybe '83?). Has a blaring alarm that will wake you up for sure. [Not sure if I am using right flair.] by i-pity-da-fool
My dad had his forever. He would never admit it, but I think he almost teared up when someone spilled water on his and it stopped working. It was the gift his adopted dad bought him for his first job 🥹

Thinkware! I went through about 4 brands which all died in a matter months. I'm going on 4 years I think with my thinkware ones.

For me, I wouldn’t be bothered by it as 9 times out of 10, it would be covered by my shirt. Now if you tuck shirts in, then yeah I would try to get a clean pair

I got a staub cast iron kettle and I love it. It’s a bit clunky but still.

Just bought one, fantastic design. Didn't think the gold would sell me but it makes perfect sense so you can see everything in the bag. 3rd batch, comes near the end of the month.

Kinda true. Some brands like coach can still have a good wallet.

These and Kirkland are all I wear. Got some lulu lemon ones and the no crotch hole is a no go. Comfortable though.

I suppose my only counterargument is that our ancestors didn't have to drop such massive coin to get lasting denim! :,( If these were $4 like Levi's in 1950 ($58 today) I wouldn't be saying shit, I swear.

This just feels strange to me when you’re using a product that creates needless non-compostable waste and is from Nestle out of all companies.
You talk about environmental and sustainability choices and then decide that your compromise is to go with one of the worst companies in those regards?

I'm sorry this upset you. This is kind of a mean comment to someone you don't know, but I hope it made you feel better to express it. If we met on the street, maybe you'd be surprised to find out that we might get along and could even be friends.

We recently grabbed a (new) La Pavoni espresso machine. Given it's simplicity, and that it's close to the same design that still functions from the 70s, we're excited to, and wholly expecting to, have it for life.
Love seeing older coffee machines!

You've impeccably typed out my thoughts, and my same body type actually. You're talking some sense into me. These jeans do fuckin rule. The discolored tag got my panties in a bunch. They're still a bit twisted up, but not as much. :)
If this post didn't dissuade you, give the Breezy Britt a try. They're a curvy fit without being *called* a curvy fit. No back waist gap at all!! Only downside is that return shipping is $20. I got lucky and managed to try them when I was in NYC last week. They didn't have my hem length, so I ordered online when I got home. They're on sale for $140 right now!

Well, today was a good example. I normally Chemex but was running late so I just used the Nespresso for my fix. I consider myself a responsible drinker and compost and all that but circumstances made it difficult. All our choices involve environmental and sustainability compromises, and my comment is more about individuals doing what we can amidst these choices. So among instant coffee a Nespresso is worse than grinding, and the machine entails a lot of waste, but arguably they do last long, and the company gives you an option to recycle. I have seen way too many Keurigs abandoned or thrifted to know those are way worse.

That’s kind of a weird thing to say when the option is to make coffee with something that doesn’t use a plastic or an aluminum capsule?

Since it's lasted this long it deserves to be cleaned up.
