I have a pata mid layer capilene that I bought in 95 I believe. I do not wear it often but when I do I oddly always get compliments on my “new” shirt. Its a rare red color so I think it catches the eye.

Thank you, that's really good to hear. From a design perspective I sometimes prefer the North Face but they seem to have a similar orientation. Really good to see companies actually fixing their products and even reselling used products like the Worn Wear program (All those fast fashion companies are awful for the environment).

They are Norwegian with an English language name. Melting them down to make a giant toilet as I type.

I was wondering how good the quality is. Their website looks very promising “repairing broken products, reinvesting into the environment and protecting it etc” but I was wondering how much of it is real and how much is marketing. Same for the North Face.

My dad had this clock! I always loved it. Hoping to find one at the thrift store.

I 2nd the Stanley 32 oz with built in straw flip top. Keeps drinks cold all day, doesn’t leak, fits in car cup holder = highly recommend.

Head to r/datahoarder, they are the nerds that know this stuff and are paranoid about losing data. Lots of drive life expectancy information. They also have a list of recommended equipment. Pretty sure Seagate is "avoid at all costs!".

Patagonia will fix them too if they start falling apart. For free.

Is it worth the hassle? Is it the nature of the product? Is it worth the excess shipping and carbon foot print? Totally up to you but seems like it’s not worth it to return.

Unless yer parents were called Liz and Philip and lots of lovely big houses paid for by taxpayers it doesn’t really count.

but don't rely on any one of those as the only copy
3-2-1 backup rule: 3 copies on at least 2 different medium with 1 copy offsite. As an apple user, storing things on my laptop with periodic time machine backups to an external drive and sync to icloud satisfies that

Damn autocorrect.
Actually I was sitting here picking icicles out of my nose hairs when a thought occurred to me; you don’t really get snow over in the UK, so I don’t think you get to claim ownership over any terminology related to snow vehicles.
Come to think of it, my parents are both from the UK, I don’t remember them ever using any specific words related to toboggans. They didn’t them toboggans, and they certainly didn’t call them sledges or sleds. Hmm.

I love my Big Skinny wallet. you can find them online at Bigskinny.com . Not affiliated with them. They make in nylon and leather, a few different styles, RFID if you like and they carry a ton of stuff with turning into a "George Costanza Wallet"

Reply to Space Heater Recommendations? by Stardate8675903
I have used the radiant oil filled heaters to supplement our air to air heat pump in north Florida. I'm pretty sure it has 3 setting for wattage 1500 being the highest as well as a thermostat. It will run me out of our bedroom if I'm not careful with the settings! I'v been using the same heater , I picked up used, for years!
