Thank you! He takes his backpack everywhere due to his job (IT Infrastructure) so servers can go down any time. It gets a ton of daily use!

When you can, always go wool! It's $103 on sale right now. Bought them for both of my parents a few years back and they love them.

Yeah, I’m female but will wear clothes “designated” for any gender.

Anything under $100! It’s not for work or anything, and I just need it to be functional and comfy.

What's your budget?
Also is this for work or should it be more of a fashion item?

5.11, Vanquest, LA Police gear, plus the others mentioned. Style depends on how else it may be used and big it needs to be. I've seen good sling bags that would work for a smaller notebook-style computer, too.

Both of these items were purchased at a US military retail outlet in Germany when I was stationed there. As a lower enlisted, the price of both were really out of my reach but I gritted my teeth and bought them anyway.
The jacket was almost stolen by an ex girlfriend but through subterfuge I was able to steal it back from the trunk of her car right before she drove away.
The current versions of both items, Retro Pile Jacket and Baggies 5" inseam look similar but not exactly the same. I can only hope they aren't improved in any way haha.

North Face products are not designed to last in the same way Patagonia ones are

Tom Bihn has a loyal following (I've got multiple travel bags from them), but there are other options from other good manufacturers. You many want to also ask in the sub r/onebag for other suggestions as this topic is covered a lot there.

Reply to espresso maker. one is over 50 years old, the other one will probably beat it to the landfill. Velox, made in Italy. by bachir_22
Someone bought that exact same espresso machine for our break room at work a couple of months ago. It is already broken. Apparently it relies solely on water pressure to puncture those metal capsules, so if any of several things happen to cause the pressure to go down, you’re hosed. I’ve personally tried several things to fix it because I really enjoyed having espresso at work (even if it’s from a capsule), but haven’t managed it. About 1 in every 2 capsules is punctured and works correctly.

Thank you so much! He carries small laptops around 12" so I think any backpack would work! Thank you for the Tim Bihn recommendation I'll check them out.

The size may be dictated by the size of your husband's laptop. The bigger his laptop, the larger a backpack needed to carry it.
I'm a fan of Tom Bihn, and they have several options (the Synik 22 and Synapse 19 or 25) that are smaller backpacks. They can accommodate laptops up to certain sizes. I like a smaller backpack and use a Synik 22 which holds my 14" laptop and has great organization for carrying other things. Their quality is top-notch.

Carhartt makes a laptop sized backpack. I bought a much larger one for camping/bug out after reading recommendations on this sub.
