That’s true. Sorry for not providing context. I guess I should have said that I don’t use nonstick every day. For me they’re sort of specialty cookware.

I don’t use them for low-fat or no-fat sautéing/pan frying, or anything that pushes my nonstick to the limits of what Teflon is capable of. But for eggs, fried rice, potstickers and heating up the occasional pan of leftover pasta or whatever, in my experience, carbon steel does the job just fine - and those uses are about 90% of what I do with my Teflon coated pans.

So for some who want to fry, sautee or blacken stuff with little/no oil, you’re right, Teflon and carbon steel aren’t interchangeable. I was looking at the issue through the narrow lens of my own cooking habits. My bad!

FWIW, I also like that with carbon steel, I’ll be able to safely use metal utensils without ruining the pan. Always afraid I’m going to have a brain fart and scratch up the Teflon coating by grabbing the wrong spatula.

I have three pairs of vivos

Primus Lite IIIs: I’ve had them a little less than a year. The part where the shoes crease when you flex your toes are wearing out quick and I can see them getting holey pretty soon. I’ve used them everyday for walking, hiking and skating around. I suspect the wear comes from skating because the shoes bends the most at that area. I would personally get another shoe from vivo or a different brand for an everyday shoe of that type

Magna FG/Trail: hiking boots, not as much wear I only use them on hikes or when it rains. Probably the most comfortable boot I’ve ever worn (also the most expensive). I don’t see any signs of testing just normal wear.

Gobi IIIs: I haven’t really worn them much yet, but I hear their the more durable shoe from vivo because of the leather and stitched soles. Hopefully they last a longer time

There’s a reason they’re removing dams. The energy is many times unnecessary and ecosystems especially salmon and other freshwater aquatics are essentially destroyed. Solar and wind is no where near as bad lmao. Provide a source before you spout complete bs like that. I’m providing some context for you since you seem pretty gung-ho on hydro which on paper seems really great.

Rather have electrical power from coal? No..that was converted to gas...wait. now gas is bad so..convert to ?? Solar is worse than hydro. Wave power is destructive to sea life. Wind turbines are killing birds and break down all the time. Pick your poison. I'm ok with my hydro..and a few solar panels and my well water. People shouldn't live in the desert and expect water to be delivered to them, and when it's short, expect everyone else to change their lifestyle and equipment because of their self-perpetuated situation. To each his own.

Find a local furniture maker, cabinet maker, or Amish furniture shop. Real wood furniture is NOT cheap but does last hundreds of years. For a lot of people though, Ikea $200 bed frames every 3-4 years is going to be more accessible than putting down 8-10k for an actual wood bed frame
