Thx. Yes, this not even by a long shot a rare model, it was a very common model in the 60's. Good and classic.

Yep, PRX has several common design features with this. But mine is WAY smaller; the Alpina is roughly 22-23 mm wide.

Eh.. I have had my made in China Zojirushi rice cooker for 10+ years. It works as well as it ever has. The stupid clock battery has died, but not a problem since it displays when plugged in. The hate for the China made ones is way exaggerated.

Ashland Leather makes really nice belts along with other very high quality leather products made with Horween leather. I have a belt in English tan Dublin and it’s awesome. I also have a shell cordovan wallet from them. Best leather u can buy.

Those leather belts you can buy in clothing stores? The ones that are stamped or labeled "genuine leather"?
Yeah, that's the lowest grade of leather.

Seconding Patagonia. They are comfortable and last forever. I wonder if the Patagonia warranty would apply to them?

I inherited my dad’s fjallraven jacket that he bought in 1981. Still going strong and barely any signs of wear or tear. So I’m very happy with the quality/durability.
I can’t speak to whether the quality has worsened in recent years, though.

I didn’t realize the integrated bracelet design on the left was that old. I thought it was ca. 1970s. Very cool. If anyone is interested in a modern version check out the Tissot PRX.

You might love the Tissot PRX. It’s a new version of this design. They make a smaller vintage style as well.

GoRuck is the best BIFL back pack. She ain’t cheap, but it’s one of the truly BIFL items I own. The bonus is their utility. Open up all the way flat, lots of zipper compartments. Two large compartments and a large laptop sleeve. Great for frequent travelers or daily users alike. Also lots of carabiner attachments for exterior attachments.

I had the Certina fully serviced a few years ago, and I think that was the first time ever it had a full service. My plan is to have it cleaned ~ 5 years, fully serviced ~ 10-ish years. The Alpina is doubtful it has been fully serviced for ages. My grandfather died in 1984, and I got the watches in my hands just a few years ago, so my guess is that it hasn't been serviced for at least 40 years. So it is due, to say the least.
About your Hamilton; electromechanical watches is fun, quirky, fascinating and a bloody nightmare to service. I can imagine that getting parts for a service is somewhat of a challenge, yes.
