Reply to Power Bank for a Soldier by picassomoon65
I have yet to find any that I'd say are "buy it for life" quality. I buy mine from Walmart for like $15-40 and store them in the MRE drink bags as improvised water protection, and most of my guys do the same. Other than the Walmart ones, guys tend to go with anchor. On a really cold field exercise, I can usually charge my phone 2 to 3 times on the medium-sized power bank and at least 1 full charge on the small, and they easily fit into a ruck or into a magazine/ admin pouch.(if you have more questions reach out and I can try to help, I can also look to see if I can find the battery size on the ones I currently have. )

That seems pretty subjective is there any data behind this? If I changed shoes every 300 miles I’d be getting new ones every few months

Any solar panel small enough to fit on a battery bank will be running at sub-watt levels.

There are also pressed wood frames from IKEA, we have one and a queen was like $300. It's only 2 years old at this point, but not really showing any signs of wear (besides the cats using it as a scratching post).

Regarding running shoes I've read that they have specific form which is not really fit for walking, not sure if true

Reply to Singer for $30 at shop by Hidden_Arrow003
Great find, but it’s a bit too new to last you a lifetime. That machine was made after Singer started using plastic gears, which tend to strip out over time. You can find some info about it here: https://www.singersewinginfo.co.uk/457 The machine won’t matter too much when you’re just learning though, so don’t worry too much and just enjoy learning the craft!

I think I have that one! It sees like a dream. Got is used at a sewing machine shop for $150. It was tuned up and ready to go. $30 is a good price. Depending on where you live a tune up would be around $100. I have given up on new machines - I break them too easily.

Walk on clouds leads me to believe you want gushy padding. Shoes like that are disposable. The rubber padding wears out by design so your joints don’t during high impact exercise.
Then on the other end of the spectrum hard soles boots like Nick’s are as long lasting as footwear gets, very comfortable and ergonomically healthy once broken in. But you will never call them gushy.

I have the ikea sagstua bed frame which is metal. It’s about 3 years old and I have taken it apart several times to move. The thing is stable, attractive and I highly recommend it. I purchased it on sale right before covid so it was only $150 for a queen. Now it’s up to $250.

Reply to comment by Greasy-Choirboy in Any Advice on this Razor? Need a BIFL option. by MamaBearsApron
I've used my Merkur 38c HD barber pole, a heavy razor with a long handle (good grip if big hands) for many years and love it. High quality machined. Any of the Merkur razors would be excellent gifts, 34c, 37c, 38c etc.
But Henson has quite the following as well. BTW for the OP, there's a subreddit r/shaving that will give you a hundred answers to this, I stick by my Merkur.

Is this the reason....or is it because people who are in the wrong sub are trying to shoehorn their narrative into the sub. The is BIFL, not where can I find a stretchy wool shirt. Notice how OP didn't say one damn word about lifespan? OP can do his own homework. You are free to kvetch about my advice but its ironic that I'm helping OP and you aren't. Help OP vice condemn my help. I'll be awaiting your helpful post with much anticipation.

Reply to Recommendations for Bluetooth headphones? (Bonus points for availability on Amazon) by allan11011
By headphones, you mean over-the-ear not earbuds, I guess. I have a pair of Sony WH-1000X m3 noise cancelling headphones that impress me a lot. The noise cancelling feature is excellent, can be deactivated, works fine in a car (not driving of course), airplane, any noisy location. Can also be used for noise cancellation without music just for quiet isolation in those places (for study time, etc). Rechargeable. Bluetooth, also works hard wired with included earphone cable. Ours are 2 years old so not much of a data point there on lasting a long time. There's a newer model out but I tried both out at Best Buy and chose the m3. The XM3 are still available, still excellent and have been heavily discounted. Available at Best Buy, Amazon, etc.

For how much weight the frame can hold once constructed. The ones in-store are often cheaper and less sturdy (really low weight limits) than the ones available online only, unless you’re going to a proper furniture store

Weight limits for what? The person sleeping on it? Shipping? I don't know what you mean.
All walk-in bed stores carry metal bed frames. I don't know where the OP is but pick-up or delivery available is from many different stores
