Reply to Looking for Rabbit Trapper Hats by Background-Peace-912
Canadian here. Rabbit is about the worst pelt to use in a hat. It doesn't shed water, and it doesn't breathe well. I know because I bought and wore one when I couldn't afford better. Beaver is expensive, but it is the best. In the middle, muskrat or fox are good. They will do a better job than rabbit, but beaver is tops.
There are all sorts of options to fur, including thinsulate and wool. Is it cold enough to wear a fur hat where you are?

I would but this thing ends up in the dirt so much when I’m camping there’s no reason to clean it 😂

Look for local craftsman in the area. If you’re in Milwaukee check out TheGrainsmith. You can get something built for life but it rarely comes from a major company focused on churning out product at the lowest possible cost. Plus you get to support small businesses.

Before you spend the money I'd just double-check you're able to mail him this kind of item. Depending on the country/postal system some types of batteries won't be accepted.

Same! Been rocking the same ones for 6 years. The palm finish is fucked but they are still super warm and comfortable

I bought some off Amazon last year and have been happy so far. I can’t speak to if they’re the same quality as before because this is my first pair but been about a year and so far so good

Any large antiques store should have an abundance of solid oak/mahogany for reasonable money

You're not going to find too many legit hardwood bed frames for sale in regular stores like The Brick, Sleep Country, Casper, etc. Best bet is buying something used if hardwood is what you want. I was trying for that myself, but ended up finding nothing. So ended up just buying a decent looking frame/headboard that's covered in a nice looking fabric.
If you just want strong, look into platform bed frames. It's stronger than slats, though you're generally limited on style and headboards that will fit.

Oldest anker battery we have is 6 years old. Got various models and sizes. All work perfectly.

I have this metal, unbreakable bedframe which has a LOT of storage room underneath. It's not aesthetic, but it'll last me my lifetime and then some, all for < $100 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B086VNNCMZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The quality of this brand has dropped so much over recent years its actually insane... I used to swear by dakine but I would never recommend them these days.
I had 2 of their mission packs that are 10+ years old. I bought the new mission and a different style about a year ago, and they already feel like they are falling apart. Also, they are the same size, but they feel smaller than the old ones, and also having less pockets/pouches makes a difference.
I really miss the old goggle pouch that was against the back part near the top. And the zippers feel like they're plastic now and not metal.

I haven't, but full disclosure I'm an absolute Salomon shill because my feet hurt in soft shoes and Salomon before last year only really ever used hard foams. A lot of brands like Hoka and On are just off the table for me, so I have no idea what to recommend.

+1 for quagga designs. They're solid, easy to put together, and pretty cheap in comparison to other brands of similar quality. Only issue is stocking, they are often out of stock, do restock though.
