I am a soldier, 12 years in may, still using the same Anker block. Great for the field. Get a case and some nice wires too

Are they still around? I haven’t seen anything from them in a long time but I also don’t buy backpacks too I guess since I get free backpacks from work. They were the best back packs I ever had in elementary and highschool. Took so much abuse.

I have the shearling lined which is really a thinsulate lower and shearling inside the leather upper.
They're made a little oversized as well, I normally wear a 10.5, I went with a 10 and have room for a thick pair of wool socks still.

I had one of these backpacks, and after about 12 years, the zipper broke. I called up Dakine customer service, and they sent me a whole new backpack.

Have a large laptop bag of there's that just as old. Carried it through college and all over the country as my work bag when I was on oil rigs and the railroad. Pretty much lived out of the bag for a decade. Now after a good wash my stepson carries it to high school everyday. Great bags hope they're still built the same.

Had one for like 13 years the zippers and material looked pretty good still. Had to leave it behind because I didn't want to play 300 bucks for losing an airbnb key.

I also bought one around the same time. Still have it, and another that my brother gave to me after he didn’t find a use for his. Dakine makes good stuff.

I've got a comfy pair of shitty Old Navy PJ bottoms that have lasted for 10-15 years. Forget exactly when I got them but they've been great. Granted, they have some paracord as a drawstring now, but everything else works great!

Yeah, Billabong bought them out around 2013, and now some other parent company owns Dakine. Unfortunately the product and warranty have suffered from the sell offs.

Which lining did you get? I'm leaning gortex and thinsulate winter hikes/camping.

I bought matching Dakine packs for my groomsmen and I last year and found the quality to be awful. My 2008 Dakine is still rocking and wearing damn well, which is what prompted the purchase. It’s possible I purchased a cheaper model, but I’m very unimpressed with the new pack.

There will be a marked difference. Licenced product quality is dictated by the buyer, in this case Kohl's, to hit price point from Mexican factories.
You can still buy direct from Eddie Bauer, quality European sheets, however they will be more costly.

For not having an aggressive tread they do really well. Great on ice, not bad on mud and snow but they also don't clog with mud and snow like most my other boots do.

Thanks. What's the actual name of these boots? Or a link? How do they do in slippery surfaces?

Mine is about the same age but has only been on a few trips. It has been indoors for most of its life. https://imgur.com/d1IpF7j.jpg

That is full grain leather. Top rated. Any leather product that says "genuine " or "bonded" leather is just bits and pieces glued together.
