I have a Dakine back pack currently 10 years old - has been with me everywhere. Absolutely bomb proof!

I had a mission pack like 15 years ago and it only lasted me about 1.5 years. Their quality has been just a little north of average.

You are trying to step on a dime and get two nickels. This almost always means you step in dogshit instead. If you want great flannel sheets, you have two options:
- Buy some ding dong Eddie Bauer flannel sheets and go with a known good. Now everyone here is a grumpy boomer who will state that quality goes down, but they don't know, they just like to repeat that phrase.
- Ask for BIFL flannel sheets and post your pricepoint and don't shop your conclusions. Amazon and Kohls are retailers who sell 3,225 types of flannel sheets so mentioning their names obfuscates the issue as you need a specific brand and/or the metrics of purchase.
Metrics of purchase
Long staple cotton. Egyptian cotton. Supima cotton. Pima cotton. If you don't see any of these words on the package, keep walking. For the common man, those four terms mean the same thing.
GSM (Grams Per Square Meter) or in ounces per square yard is how flannel is sold. The best flannel sheet weights start at 160 GSM or 5 Ounces. Think the heavier the better/longer lasting, but weigh this against the warmth desired.

I bought an adjustable metal frame for around $350 on Wayfair. I doubt it will adjust forever, but the frame is sturdy.

Yep I have the black red one also…actually it has been handed down to my son now and must be 15 years old. Going to have to “borrow” it for an upcoming overseas trip ;)

Any brands similar to UA but with good quality you'd recommend? Years ago I've bought a bunch of those very light & breathable tees & boxers that dry very quickly for the summer as I'm prone to sweating and I absolutely swear by them. I've been thinking of getting some more but I'm worried about the quality.

If the narrow is too tight I would just go up a width.
Don't forget your feet will splay out more when you stand up and put your full weight on them. The more you weigh the more they splay usually.
I find that I also go down a half size in size with NB if I go up a width fitting so if you on the border of the next size down I would try to get both sizes and return the one that doesn't fit as well.

Reply to Another Dakine backpack! I begged my mom to buy, I think it was like 80 bucks 10 years ago. It even came with a pencil case that I still use! It's the only backpack I own. I use it for college, vacation trips, groceries etc. Looks brand new, only had to re-sew part of the zipper a couple months ago. by StarShoot97
Awesome! I foolishly gave my HeliPro, vintage 2006ish, to someone a few years ago in a snow gear deal. At least I can be confident it's still out there working. The thing was crazy bombproof.

Dakine are amazing. I have a couple of their travel bags and have been exceptionally happy with the construction of them.

I've got a black one too and it's been all around the world with me for nearly 15 years.

What the heck! It looks so clean! This is one of my favourite subs at the moment, the simple reason being posts like this showing something that has lasted crazy long, with a little story about the product. Makes me excited and happy in a really nice way :)

I don’t think you can trust brands alone, but have to pay attention to the fabric thickness and makeup. And, as a PP suggested take care of them by avoiding dryer cycles.
I have a couple pairs of 100% cotton pants that are a decade old pants that I just recently patched and will keep wearing for awhile.

I bought a snowboarding dakine pack back in 2005. It's been a fishing pack the last 10 years and I don't think it's gonna see retirement anytime soon.
