Salomon has a kind of trend where almost nobody actually leaves reviews on their site, and most people only go there to leave negative reviews

Lifetime warrenty means there is no need for self repair kits or new wheels. they do sell extra wheels if you wan them though. And if you want a case that will stand up to anything, Pelican's have a long well earned reputation. And yes, you can put clothes in them.

Lmao get ready to go down the rabbit hole of expensive and quality footwear to find out what you want. It's a fun journey, goodluck!

Doesn’t look like it has many extra parts in store, like new wheels, or self repair kits. Also these are rugged cases, I’m just looking for something easily repairable hard cases, not super hard cases. Don’t have cameras or any expensive electronics just for normal clothes.

Costco has the best cotton sheets of anywhere I have tried. I get white and bleach weekly and they last 4-5 years usually

I second this. Ikea and you can get cool functional color coded lids or wood lids. Very nice designs and durable!

I always bought payless shoes when I lived in Canada and sprayed waterproofing spray on them. I would get the fleece lined ones and wear them all winter then get another pair the next year. We tried all kinds and none lasted due to the salt.

Reply to Is Sony's WH-1000MX5 BIFL? by sranzuline
They say that the ANC is very powerful but the sound quality isn't that good. I'd recommend getting the Sennheiser's Momentum 4, they have an amazing sound quality, not that power ANC than the Sony's but it depends on what do you prioritize more, and the price range isn't that different.
Regarding the quality of the object itself, if you can I seggest you try both in person, personally I felt the Sony's to be more cheap in the quality of the build than the M4's.

These are for outside walking in a city. I do a lot of walking outside because I don't have a car, so I need something that looks nice, is comfortable, and can handle cold weather. I was looking into insulated ones because I want to avoid buying boots that are just a thin piece of leather separating my foot from the outside.

That depends on what you are doing and for how long. Personally I wouldn't wear a pair of insulated boots unless I am onside in the cold for long periods of time. So my real winter/snow boots are insulated but none of the other boots I wear are. If I need to I will add a thick wool socks on colder days. But I am in Southern Ontario so I would likely only see temps down to -20 regularly. You said -30 so you might be spending more time outside where you need more insulation.

I concur. Been very happy with my luggage after over a decade and 15-30 long haul flights a year. My only problem was when TSA destroyed the unlocked lock and zipper pull tab.

I really love the Sealy Posturepedic pillows. The one with the thick center section between both side. As a side sleeper it works great. Added bonus is it stays very cool so I don't find myself flipping it as often.

Sorry forgot to mention, EU based traveller. Briggs and Reiley only has stores in US/UK, neither of them ship to EU. Only third party sellers available in europe which will lack easily accessible parts.

Reply to Bathroom scale? Dial or digital? by adamfrom1980s
It’s a “it depends” answer. A good manual scale will almost certainly outlast a digital scale but you don’t get as many features. I’ve used a pretty wide range ( in terms of cost) of digital scales and none of them lasted more than 2 years. I’ve had a ConAir manual scale for over 10 years and it shows my weight! I have to calibrate it once in a while but for close approximations, I find it a good compromise. I forgot how much I paid but it wasn’t much.
