Reply to My Grip6 belt arrived today by russkhan
I've seen these posted in here before and I finally decided to order one after seeing /u/gravybutt's post a few days ago.
I actually got three straps and one buckle. Wore it for a few hours today and so far I am pleased with the quality.

5 years of how much usage? Most companies aren't really gonna replace that kind of wearable. Not saying wheels are consumable but they are kind of.

Oh nice. The wheels on my Victorinox disintegrated after ~5 years and they charged me to replace them.

Get Yak Trax to wear with them. The tread is not great in the snow and is totally ineffective on ice.

My parents immigrated 35 years ago and my mother still uses the same Samsonite hard case suitcase. I have an American Tourister (which is a sub brand of Samsonite, irl) and I have it for 10+ years for a very reasonable price.

Lots of people don't know that being furgal does not mean "living as cheap as possible". To me it's a lot more about directing the funds towards things I enjoy, and also investing into fewer lasting, durable and quality items instead of a bunch of disposable shit.

Reply to BMW M leather jacket 40+ years old. I inherited it from my stepfather 20 years ago and wore it every year since then, like across fall & winter time. The zip is now broken, the color faded away but still - by far - my favorite jacket. by k7v1n
glassteelhammer is right: totally repairable.
would either buy a zipper yourself (so like - so can insure the quality) and bring to a good drycleaner who offers mending. (this path saves you $$)
or bring to a tailor. (get quote first - and be prepared to go to 3-5 tailors... I once didn't get a quote for a pair of jeans and was $90-something dollars! ouch, but my fault b/c didn't ask for a quote - and while coulda left those jeans there, never picked-up.. did like them)

Yes yes this. The Hotel Signature 800TC sheets, anyone reading this immediately go to the Costco website and buy these. They are marvelous, better than sheets at any hotel I have been able to afford! I have the white ones, they are crazy luxurious and make me feel like I’m sleeping inside a Vera Wang wedding dress (in a good way). However they are sateen, not jersey.

I have them. I’d say it’s normal. It’s like goat fur or whatever the fuck, kinda weaved together tight. I’m buying the high top ones with the ankle slit next.

This:
I have one. It’s quiet, heavy and powerful.
Like the old school fans from the 70s that last forever.
It’s well built and doesn’t have any flimsy bits that feel like they are waiting to break.

Roper, cheapest you can find. It gets hot and spins, there's not much bling to a dryer.

You may consider “duck boots” I have had good experiences. Not exactly summer where, but they should be on your radar.

I have a similar Mountainsmith backpack (red rock 25) I used it every day in middle school, high school, and now college.
Although I have recently switched to the mountain hardware J Tree 22 due to its functional bucket bag design. Both are definitely buy it for life items

I’ve got a 20+ year old Simpson 4kg that’s stood the test of time. Never even had to think about fixing it, sits outside on my covered deck and does exactly what it needs to do, when it’s told to do it #ftw

I know they don't back up the warranty if the damage was caused by the airlines. So that's kind of a downside.

Light use. They didn't break. The plastic/rubber decomposed.
