I know they are not steel but the nalgene bottles are ultra durable and extremely easy to clean due to the wide mouth and see through plastic.
You can also buy inserts to make the opening smaller for easier drinking that can be quickly removed for cleaning
And it's practically indestructible, at least mine has been so far

I'm a huge fan of contigo insulated stainless. I have the 20 oz Ashland model, second one I've owned since I left my original at the beach... :-( The mouth is 2" wide which is enough to get a bottle brush into (Dollar Tree baby section FTW, though definitely NOT BIFL LOL). It's also dishwasher safe.

I’m sure it is. I was only commenting on the idea that it can’t be worth it.
If you’d said that can’t be necessary then I’d have to agree. Whether or not it’s worth it is a personal call, based on a number of factors.
I would save up for something made under stricter employment laws, for example, as that cost of being particular about the production process is important to me. It isn’t important to everyone and not everyone can afford to prioritize that. I can’t always afford to prioritize that… it’s a really terrible trade off.

Most bottles are really hard to see inside unless they're clear (In which case they're likely plastic)
devilstang t1_j63rr9y wrote
They make bottle brushes you can clean them with. It’s not that hard.

I was looking into this and finally bought Level8. They provide a limited lifetime warranty. I haven't got to travel yet but the luggage looks really good and the wheel is probably the smoothest I have ever seen. It cost me 420 for a set of three.

Any wide-mouthed stainless steel bottle? They come in insulated versions as well. Kleen Kanteen and Hydroflask comes to mind.

Depends on materials, production and durability, along with other factors like style, if that’s something you value.
Good luggage is expensive. Luggage is expensive in general and if you’re buying 3-4 sets over the course of your lifetime, $600 for a set that will work and work well your whole life and for generations really isn’t an unreasonable price 🤷🏾♀️

You are in the wrong sub, this is BIFL where we speak to lifespan. Do you want the longest lifespan snow shovel or not? Best is subjective and you get opinions, which normally suck. Bent handle. Straight handle. Handle in the middle of the shaft. Narrow scoop. Wide scoop. Metal. Plastic. All have their pros and cons depending on if you are an 83 year old arthritis sufferer or a stong like bull 25 year old.

Sub $50 I’d go digital. No analog scale at that price will be BIFL.
Check out Escali’s offerings.

Being from New England I can say there’s no perfect fit for one snow shovel. I have 4 different ones that I use for different reasons.

OP this is the correct answer. Take a look at crew bags on your next flight. Almost none of them are “mainstream” brands. Most are from LW.
Luggageworks isn’t pretty to look at, but damn if they won’t last decades for us regular travelers.

If you have a dishwasher, Neti makes stainless steel insulated bottles that are dishwasher-safe. (I’ve had mine for many years and they hold up very well even with frequent dishwasher visits!)
I also have a Larq and love it, but it is a whole different lifestyle. It has a UV light in the cap that kills everything living in it so you only need to clean it once a month. (I do rigorously rinse it out more than that.). It is, let’s say, an investment piece of a water bottle but it has been worth it to me because I have used it a TON.
