I bought a basic one off eBay, which I guess would be equivalent to the Classic. If I came across a higher wattage one at a yard sale I'd probably upgrade again, but I'm perfectly happy with the one I have.

Bamix invented immersion blenders and it's the only product they sell, so everything is good and all the parts are interchangeable on all of the machines throughout the history of the company.

If you look in a walmart they should have them there if they are more flexible it’s likely to break after 2-3 years but are some of my favourite cooking utensils. I had a cheap green one and it was amazing for the years it has lasted me. Im currently using a kitchen aid one and its works just as fine so I cant recommend getting a name brand one.

Invest in lenses at the eye doc if you can, or the online places. By invest I mean buy the lightest weight best coated lenses they offer. Even the EyeBuyDirect lenses have good coatings. The only caveat being I would not recommend transitions lenses, they never get dark or light enough.

Polarized lenses for sun. I got mine online at the place I mentioned above and it feels like such a luxury to have Rx sunglasses. It’s not. I should have bought them years ago.

Absolutely! I was always fixated on stainless steel bottles (bc plastic bad yada yada) but if you are a bit clumsy like me and drop them once in a while they don't last very long before they become unusable

I've had my nalgene for some years now, abused the hell out of it in various outdoor sports (drops on pointy rocks included) and this thing is just built like a tank haha

I have an Escali kitchen scale. It's doing great.

For anything that requires a calibration it's almost always cheaper and more robust to go for a digital option in modern times. It's not hot and sexy like an old school hunk of metal, but labor and materials are way more expensive than they used to.

I hate everything battery powered. But the engineer brain takes over sometimes.

Yep. I have a Nalgene OTF that is pretty much the only thing I drink water out of. Love the design of the lid too. Easy to carry (just hook it over your pinky if you have your hands full), easy to clean, right size for cup holders or a bike bottle cage and I can trust it 100% to not leak, which is important for someone who puts it in a backpack a lot

Women's winter boots are a rough one. They're often built to be stylish, and so neither warm nor durable. Your ask is further complicated by the fact that leather isn't a great winter option, since salt destroys it.
Baffin is a great brand, and make solid and warm boots. Manitoba is a popular option for people who live in genuinely cold places.
UGG Adirondak boots are leather and warm. Only time will tell if they're built for life.
Pajar make great winter boots, if you can find some Made in Canada. The Made in China stuff is cheap and crap

If you have any decent thrift stores around ya, check in regularly til you find one of these mentioned brands - I work at a thrift, I put out heaps of clean, perfect donated contigo, hydro flasks, thermos brand… you could have a BIFL for a couple bucks if ya have the time and patience to hunt!

Just look for a wide mouth, metal or glass interior, with a lid that doesn’t have a ton of funny etchings and grooves - the lid can be the biggest issue to keep clean. I bought a fancy one a while back, but my coffee would get stuck in the lid and develop weird gross plastic-like mold gunk. Wasn’t worth the pain of meticulously cleaning all the time, so my best advice is check for a simple lid! I found a cheaper but quality one that doesn’t have that prob. And if it’s more for water for you, even more so - cuz you won’t notice as easily that it’s getting gunky til it already is…

Yeti gets shit (rightfully) for overpriced products, but their wide mouth water bottles are legitimately really great. Damn near bullet proof (drove off with mine on my car where it slammed on the concrete at speed, whoops), like you are wanting very wide mouth (more than most of the other bottles), and it has a nice big handle on the lid that I personally like. I had hydro flask for a while before the insulation failed (outer wall punctured) but I’ve enjoyed the yeti more
