I did that with an old box fan I found on the side of the road in a garbage heap. I replaced the switch with an old 3-way toggle switch I had in the garage and it runs like a charm. It sounds like a turbine engine starting up and has amazing airflow. This was someone else's trash 35 plus years ago, and it's still going.

May I ask where this was ? City & seller ?

Any advantages over Eames? Looks like this one is less expensive and effectively the same style, but if I was spending thousands of dollars on a chair I’d splurge for Eames

Could be. Once the plating comes off they're mostly zinc alloy underneath and it corrodes after a while. You've got months though.
There are stainless steel razors - heads and handles - that will last forever.
If you don't mind buying second hand (disinfect before use) most of the vintage Gillettes are made of plated brass and also last forever. I have 100 year old razors that I still use regularly and those things will definitely outlast me.

I love those dumb bags. When I’m away from home, I take them into health food stores and fill them with Hildon. Handing a black Filson tote full of black Filson totes to the cashier is a strange flex, but a flex nonetheless.
Have you seen their pullmans? I don’t think they make them anymore but they’re so nice people stare.

Yeah, because they're uncomfortable, so nobody wants to sit in it for too long. :(

As mentioned I’m not worried about airlines abusing the luggage but rather myself.

I have noticed that certain people's oils tend to be more corrosive than others. One of our coworkers has this and his VR headsets foam always seems to dissolved away while mine and others are fine for years.

You want one that uses large 100mm scooter wheels. Then you can swap out the original crap for scooter wheels with good bearings.

Reply to This is what BIFL is really about. Not only does Lee Valley still sell the consumable blade for their old marking gauges (discontinued nearly 20 years ago), it's actually a dollar cheaper than the blade for the new model. by yboy403
Love everything I've purchased from Lee Valley over the years.

You are better off investing in a IPS panel screen for your laptop. Like a dell ultra sharp for example. I get migraines from standard TN panels in normal screens.

We have a Stressless couch and it’s wonderful. Was a floor model and we got it for like 60% off. Floor model during Covid Lockdown here in Germany. So…basically it was new. I also got them to throw in a David Bowie throw pillow.

Keen canteen or a wide mouth titanium canteen. I personally would spend the extra on titanium because it will never rust no matter what happens and life is a long time.

Get a new one. The coating is coming off and the body is corroding.
Never ever use cleaner. Just use a nailbrush (mainly for soap or shavingscream residue) and water (brush every other month). Let it dry properly.
Merkur safety razors are BIFL (Solingen, Germany).
Mühle razors are good too (but not made in Germany).
Have a look at Merkur 34C (short handle) oder 23C (long handle)

I lived with someone who had an 8-year-old beagle. Before we moved in together, she warned me not to get too attached to the dog as he was likely nearing the end of his life. Got attached anyway. Stubborn (and well-cared for) beagle lived until he was 18.

And to think, back then nobody would had a second thought about it being around the kids.
