I don’t have a lot of intrusive thoughts but that would change if I owned that fan

I’m not sure if it BIFL material yet, but I purchase [this one](Mainstays 1.7-Liter Plastic Electric Kettle, White https://www.walmart.com/ip/471494848) from Walmart based on this Technology Connections video.

I’m sure you can find another crappy shredded memory foam pillow where the lunatic owner doesn’t funnel your money into Trump and insurrectionist groups.

Don't forget to oil it.
Not a joke, checkout fan collector's pages for advice. These old motors and bearings were designed with user maintenance in mind.

Reply to This is what BIFL is really about. Not only does Lee Valley still sell the consumable blade for their old marking gauges (discontinued nearly 20 years ago), it's actually a dollar cheaper than the blade for the new model. by yboy403
My firm belief is that there is no such thing as a bad Lee Valley product.

Check out outdoorgearlab.com, it has really in depth reviews of a wide variety of winter activity clothes. I've always been pleased with the stuff I buy based off their recommending even if I don't go with their favorite.

Yeti rambler 26oz with the chug cap. They’re dishwasher safe and way better than hydro flask and kleen kanteen.

I got my Stressless almost 10 years ago and it's pretty much the only chair I use....the price stings a little but it's been completely worth it. Make sure to find a good fit

yeah it sounds like you should buy a little better quality, but you are on the right track safty razors give amazingly close shaves and are awesome you will save in the long run for sure. Heck you can even buy blade sharpeners. So Don't give up and also try different types of blades they are really not all made equally. I had some real crap ones and then i go buy the generic grocery store brand and they cut 100x better.

I, for one, appreciate these kind of posts. Not very useful if everyone is just showing off their 50yr old things which are long out of production and impossible to find.

It started for me with buying new office chairs every year since they were cheap and the padding would wear out and pleather would peel off. This branched into ergonomic office chairs from steelcase, hermon miller, and humanscale among others for sitting for 10+ hours a day and having 15 year warrenties.
Still using my chair for 10 years almost. This then translated to other stuff like buying a CNC machined safety razor instead of plastic disposable cartridge razors and everything else now.

Like others have said it looks like the plating might be coming off. I would spend a bit extra for a CNC machined razor out of stainless steel or aluminium, brass or other metal that wont corrode like cheaper plated zamak alloy will eventually. /r/wicked_edge can help you pick out one for your price range.
If you want your new razor to last forever itll be good to take apart and give a quick hand dry with a towel before putting back together and if your environment is humid to put them somewhere dryer.

I buy old stuff. I love estate sales. If an item lasted someone their entire life, it should last one more lifetime.
