I purposely bought what might have been the last new one of the old model in existence. I had it shipped from a furniture store in the East Coast a few years back. My understanding is that when they went to the design where the agitator stays stationary, and the tub rotates that the ability to clean went down hill. There were some pretty compelling YouTube videos about it, and Speed Queen definitely faced some criticism.

How much did you buy it for originally?

American Giant. I love my crewnecks and everything else I’ve ever bought from there. Soft and durable

There are also some places that will buy damaged aka scratch/ debt appliances that the company writes off and sells for minimal cost that they repair which is what mine were. One had a relay that was not plugged in internally so it wouldn’t turn on when they tested and that was it

May I ask what brand of stainless steel you’ve been using? I found that cheaper brands taste bad while Yeti and ThermoFlask do not.

Most appliance stores have a section for cosmetically damaged pieces, commonly known as "scratch and dent" where some pretty crazy deals can be found.

Tramontina performed as well as All-Clad in several test (Serious Eats) and is far cheaper. I bought a Tramontina set about 6 years ago and have been so pleased, specifically with the stock pot. I use it to make soups a few times a week and it looks brand new. Most of the time I hand wash it, but it’s been through the dishwasher more than a few times and looks great.

The point I'm making is that Consumer Reports objectively found that the models without the center agitator don't clean as well. I mean, CR certainly isn't perfect, but I'm not sure why I wouldn't trust them here.
And you just added another washer to the life span, lol. There's certainly some washers that while they won't last as long as a SQ, will certainly last more than 1/3 as long as an SQ. And yes, there's also washers out there that won't last even 1/3 as long as an SQ.

I have a takeya glass water bottle with a silicon sleeve. The glass is pretty thick and I really liked it for a time. I just felt like it was a little heavy to carry compared to anything else.

Appreciate it, thank you! I'll look into Miele or Bosch. I'm moving my laundry hookups upstairs to my steps landing and out of my kitchen (terrible place for them), seemed like a good time to replace my POS combo unit that was here when we moved in.

I've had a pair of 3M Worktunes bluetooth headphones or years. They are made for construction jobs, keep out harmful noise, sound great. I was thinking about posting about them as BIFL. Not that any electronics is going to last that long but they have outlasted several phones.

Is scratch and dent an actual store or are you saying to generally buy damaged

I used wide mouth quart jars- Mason Jars. It’s been years since I broke one and they are much cheaper than any water bottle.

So somehow you're salty about high efficiency washers?
I feel like slapping you in the face with a trout because you don't provide any proven data to back up your claim either.
God damn the irony of your comment.

Reply to An Xbox controller that doesn't break just from normal use by cone8042
I have several official xbox controllers going back to the Xbox one x. The old micro USB charger ones the ports are spotty but everything else is working fine.
My USB c ones are pretty solid still. I've only had one controller fail after a few years. (Older micro usb one) But I got a little rough with it. So it's my fault.
