I have a pair and can absolutely recommend them. I am about to retire them this summer after 11 years of backpacking and hiking. Still going to keep them for yard work boots though. Other brands you may consider would be Asolo and Scarpa.

Miele does seem nice, but all I'm seeing are the ventless heat pump style from them. Whatever hookups I choose is negligible because I'm going straight up and need to run new water / power lines anyway. Right now I have gas hookups and could easily have the plumber extend gas upwards / add an exhaust upstairs.

Heat pump style does seem neat and more energy efficient. Biggest hangup I have about it is that the loads take longer to dry and the drum is about half the size of traditional laundry machines.

Hello there! I am a bot raising awareness of Alpacas

Here is an Alpaca Fact:

The Spanish Conquest almost wiped out 90% of the fine alpacas being bred by ancient cultures.

It's latex (rubber) sap straight from the tree. It is whipped into a foam poured into a mold and baked. It is supportive and springy/bouncy unlike memory foam, but it still contours to your body. The latex foam doesn't break down and sag like memory foam from what I have read. I have only had my mattress and pillows for about 2 years, so I can't really comment much on the actual longevity. Also I have never had a solid latex pillow only shredded so I can't say much about those.

Any cheap fast fashion brand is going to be not very ethical, not very sustainable, and not very good quality.

They can’t make good quality, lasting clothes at the prices they sell them for.

Seconding West Paw. Our Boxer loves Toppl and Tizzi. He enjoy chewing them more than Kong.

Kong has some great toys too. There's one that looks like UFO. Our late boxer loved it a lot. We took it to the fields and woods. It bounces and rolls a lot when thrown and he loved chasing after it.

There's no really BIFL for dogs though, especially those with strong jaws. But West Paw and Kong do make some that last a long time.

I also love a licki mat that's made by a small company in Germany, Hund ist König and a tug toy made by a small Polish company in Etsy called ZAYMACraft.

Yeah you should definitely look at the broader high-end market if you're going to upgrade anyway. Long term, a few hundred dollars are basically equivalent to dirt, but I would cry if my shirt that my mother bought me for college 10 years ago came out torn courtesy of a "hurr-durr rugged washer cuz I'm a construction worker" sentiment.

Miele is very expensive, but many German and European brands have nailed the art of washing clothes pretty well, so I hope you look into that. All the best with your renovation!
