The sheets take about 6-7 washes to really soften up and after that, they are amazing. My wife insists on only using them, which is hilarious since she thought I was exaggerating about them. Nothing is for everyone though.

To us the towels are the perfect weight, feel, and absorbency. They aren’t as “fluffy” as others maybe, but they all lose that feeling anyway since it’s mostly chemical induced. We only use their towels too, but the sheets are worth it more than the towels. Sorry you were disappointed with RLC, their products truly are incredible. I would wash the sheets a few more times for sure, but if you don’t like the towels you probably won’t ever

Japanese import machines from the 50's-70's are the unsung workhorses of vintage machines. I see these a lot in thrift stores. The 70's Kenmores are maybe the most common machines out there. They seem bulletproof. I think the 60's breed of Japanese machines are even better, but they are harder to find. I would recommend anyone buy one of these over a Singer HD all day even if they cost the same.

Darn tough are good for hiking and long distance walking - IF you have regular or narrow feet. They don’t work well with wider than average feet. And I strongly encourage you only get regular cushion - not full cushion, which is much tighter.

For everyday/ casual use, short walks, etc, I prefer Smartwool, which makes a looser, warmer, more cushioned sock that is better for regular use.

To jump off this, anyone know a vendor with a good Muslin sheet or something else breathable, soft, durable, but also zippered for a queen bed?
