I have the answer for you.

BR800 FIRM mattress with tempurpedic topper.

Here's the reasoning:

  1. The beautyrest 800 is a pocketed coil mattress. That means the mattress supports your body with separate coils that act independently so every part of your body gets the support it needs.
  2. The tempurpedic topper adds an extra layer of cushioning and support that fine tunes to your body's shape. The best part about this is that the topper can be replaced and the mattress is still good. Unless you weigh 500 lb this will last you forever.

I completely disagree. I had terrible posture in my school chairs because my tailbone wanted to slip forward on the indented plastic. Thus, I put a ton of pressure on my tailbone and always had pain. Old wooden chairs typically align your spine better since they have flat bottoms. I always favor my antique rocking chair over my couch, simply because it fits the shape of my body better.

You didn’t mention arsenic or lead or heavy metals, but I thought I’d jump in anyway since quality of rice probably includes toxins/fewer toxins. A few weeks ago I went down the rice quality rabbit hole and was surprised (kinda) to find out rice can have unacceptable amounts of arsenic and lead in it - especially if you eat it frequently. The exact details have dimmed in my memory but the safest rice that’s readily available is the stuff grown in California. Texas rice was on the worse end of things. I kind of remember India wasn’t as bad as Texas. I’d look it up yourself to see if the rice you’re buying is safer than maybe another source for the same type. Brown was worse than white. I’ve been using a Zojirushi for a few years now, and it makes every kind of rice the best that it can be. The Jasmine and Basmati white or brown are fantastic. I prefer some kinds (Tamaki Gold is soooooo good) but they’ve all been really, really good at a minimum. It does not bring the same magic to pearled barley or wheat berries, or I need to tweak the recipe. We went from rarely rice to rice all the time with the rice cooker, I only wish I’d bought the 5 1/2 cup model vs the 3 cup model.

Nice! My gf has been cutting my hair since the pandemic, and she's got so good at it, I won't be going back to a barber. She can also do our daughter's hair, and somehow, even her own. Frugal win!

I was going to chime in with Merrell as well. I put mine through absolute hell and they hold up a fantastically. I spent over $100 for my first couple of pairs at a local store. They were well worth it. Then I found the Merrell store on Amazon. The exact same model of shoe was on closeout for $45. Obviously I bought another pair.

School furniture keeps getting worse- I'm a school custodian and have to fix it when it breaks- the stuff from the 80s is ugly and heavy but at least repairable- now they are buying cheap Amazon bullshit that is in the dumpster at the end of the year- it's not repairable. The nicer plastic chair tend to be pretty durable and somewhat repairable depending. Wooden is 100% repairable and takes skill and craft which schools do not care about anymore - they only care about (short term) cost

Update: found it! I wrote my original comment, half joking. But laying in bed last night I did start to wonder where the heck I put it, so this morning I looked around and I found it in the top of my toolbox. I remember now that I stored it there so it wouldn’t tip over and leak.
