What the difference between buying a pair that will last a year and 3 pairs that will last 3 years except that you can chose which pair you'll wear everyday? How do you save money?

I recommend building a CR box. They're cheaper to build than air purifiers are to buy (even more so if you're comparing them based on how much air they filter). While the standard one--a cube of 4 MERV 13 filters with a box fan--is quite large, people have made smaller ones with computer fans or CR boxes with one filter set as a floating shelf. The BIFL aspect is that it's just a fan (which is always useful) and filters (which you'd need to replace on any air purifier). The filters aren't proprietary, too, so you can search for sales and you're not locked into one company or one size.

Reply to WIRED computer mouse. I'm particularly interested in one with a cable that will not fray. They seem to fray very shortly after I get them. I want the cable to be like a quarter of an inch thick. I don't care if the thing weighs 5 lbs. My budget is $200. by TheJawsofIce
Logitech G502 Hero. Fabric cable.

I have an old camping/hiking pack I pull out every now & then and give it a deep sniff. I love that smell. I wish someone would make a cologne that smelled like camping.

My Patagonia Blackhole backpack is 8 years old of at 3 times weekly use in the city. Still looks new. My Blackhole duffels have travelled the world and there is not an airline baggage handler that has killed them yet.

I'm in the pacific northwest, it's raining here all the time.
I want a waterproof/seam taped pack with support structure of a hiking bag
You can do this with some Arcteryx bags

Damn, yeah Arcteryx has definitely changed. I sent back a hoodie hoping for a simple repair and they refused to do it. Same with the zippers on my partner's tights.

God 4Runners are awesome. I looked into buying one last year and even the older ones are pretty spendy which I think is for a good reason. I purchased an older RAV4 instead and that thing has ran flawlessly for a few years without a single issue knock on wood

The materials they are using, some of the tech and design elements have definitely improved over time.
For their packs, I think the best build quality is with their AC2 tech
They are fully waterproof, completely seam sealed bags.
I've got 3 made with this tech. Nothing else on the market seems to come even close.

💯. If you want this level of sturdy, look into hunting packs. Cordura still exists, it's just getting harder and harder to find at REI.

Toyotas are the best. I used to drive cab back in the day and we had many scion xbs and Priuses with over 500k. Camrys with over 350k...
And crown Vic's with over a million miles.
