For closeness you usually want to go for foil over rotary blades. The best in that category are the Braun or the Panasonic Arc series. Personally, I went with Panasonic because it’s easier to clean (doesn’t require cleaning station or hours to fully clean). Best shave I ever had.

I recommend checking out the Shavercheck reviews. I tried the Speick shaving cream they recommended and it’s literally magic.

Absolutely not. They seem to not last as long as other soles. Vibrant is vastly overrated

My most recent vibram soled boots are about 50% worn after about 8 months

I just recently replaced a gas furnace/AC for $8000 in western PA. I gets pretty cold here much of the time and I already had gas lines to the house. Maybe get the tank replaced for now and then do a lot of research before spending a large amount of money and time? Get a lot of estimates. It's crazy how much prices can differ. I don't know - it's a huge decision for sure. Wish you luck whatever you decide.

Technology Connections just did an amazing video discussing the issue of electrifying old houses. He makes a pretty solid argument that 100amp service can be just fine for heavier electrical demands if it’s actively managed. A dumb breaker panel will struggle, but a smart one can allocate the available 100amps as needed (i.e. turn off the water heater for a bit when you run your stove)

Cemented soles are virtually impossible to effectively resole. A lot of cobblers will turn away shoes that are cemented. Welted boots are always going to be a better investment, Goodyear or otherwise.

Hmm. I know of several other USA made wallets in this style, but they all have logos or exterior card slots or only two interior card slots. Mitchell Leather is the only one I know of that meets all of the “made in the USA,” “no logo” and “4 card slots on the inside” criteria.

Don’t suppose there’s any chance it was from a seller on Etsy or something?

Owner of an HVAC company here.

New Ductless heat pumps are pretty amazing & can put out 100% capacity well below zero. You can have one outdoor unit with as many as 5 indoor units, all independently controlled, so now your house will be “zoned” as well.

That said, the installing company is VERY important. Read the company’s reviews & get the 10-12 year extended warranty. Well worth it. Probably stick with Daikin, Mitsubishi or Fujitsu as far as manufacturers go. They’re all great. The brand of the equipment is not nearly as important as the company installing it.

Natural gas furnaces are great as well, but it is an outgoing technology.

For heat pump systems (ductless or ducted) there are Federal Tax Credits this year & usually local utility rebates as well.

Good luck with your home comfort journey!

Thanks for the post! It’s not from there, but those do look great!

It has no logo on it whatsoever which makes it difficult to find again. I’ve tried to go through my credit card statements but I don’t remember exactly when I purchased it.

I have the Thursday Loggers and it has a 1/2” vibram fighter outsole and I’m confident that it will last at least 10yrs before it needs a resole so to me it’s a bifl boot. I love the vibram outsoles.

We’ve seen arcterx and Patagonia jackets, but I’ve yet to see a boathouse jacket. I’m not saying it’s better than any others but it has at least 15 years under its belt, is in good condition and you can still buy one.
