A CR box, or a Corsi-Rosenthal box, is a very efficient, low-cost, make-it-yourself air filter that was developed by two environmental engineers, Richard Corsi and Jim Rosenthal.

The standard is a box fan taped to four MERV-13 furnace filters (like this: https://youtu.be/aw7fUMhNov8 ), but people have adapted them to use computer fans and one or two filters to fit in their space (examples here: https://mobile.twitter.com/hashtag/corsirosenthalbox?src=hashtag_click&f=image and specifically here: https://mobile.twitter.com/robwiss/status/1596940686049554434 ).

Because of the high volume of air a box fan is able to pull through the large surface area of filters, it ends up being pretty similar to or better than a hepa filter in terms of particles filtered, and they’re cheaper and have less plastic and electronics waste. Testing shows that they’re also quieter than many standard air filters: https://mobile.twitter.com/marwa_zaatari/status/1499072595404206090.

I had a herman miller Aero, was a good chair but got uncomfortable after long periods for me. I'd say it's worth a try since they have great resell value. I actually sold my Aero for $50 more than I paid back in 2020.

I switched to the secret lab titian I much prefer this chair but the aesthetic probably isn't for everyone.

Good luck, buy it for life cordless vacuum. Or any vacuum for that matter. Any product with moving parts is going to break. Some sooner than others. Pick your product, do some research, don't get sucked into a high price. It's going to die eventually

A corded Miele. I fucked it up by sucking up plaster dust with after party dustbags and filters. The whole inside was caked with plaster dust, include the motor.

It was a dream disassembling it, washing it, cleaning it and air pressure all the dust away from the motor. New Miele bags and filters and it is like new.

I prefer serveability over BIFL.

I have maybe 20 pair that I think all got bought together years ago. I used to wear each pair probably once every other week for 2-3 years. They all started noticeably thinning around the toes and heel. No holes but close enough to be nearly no difference. I switched to another brand of socks for work and these still get worn on weekends occasionally. This is all to say, I've definitely worn them out even if it takes a bit longer than dirt cheap ones.

I have 2 pair of Farm to Feet socks, and I really like them. Unfortunately both pair developed a hole recently. Kind of bummed, actually. I like the fit better than the Darn Tough socks I have. I also had a couple pair of Smartwool PHD socks that got holes. Loved those socks as well.

The older carhart duck canvas pants feel exactly like denim and are insanely durable. I’ve had a pair for over 15 years and I bought those new old stock at a flea market so I’d say they were from the late 2000s
