I’m sitting at work wearing my tan canvas Weird Guys right now. The logo isn’t noticeable as it’s embossed on to the leather patch. Anyone spending that much time looking at it are probably due a trip to HR. It takes a bit of time to understand the cut I was fortunate to be able to try them on in store. Can’t recommend them enough.

I got my first 7 pairs of Darn Tough wool socks in 2015. I washed them (inside out) once a week. Then I got another 7 pairs about a year later. Now each pair is worn once every two weeks.
They show no signs of wearing out. I will likely have these socks for another 8 years.
I think OP (/u/Johnpecan) would probably like to know that his plan is solid.

> I prefer serveability over BIFL.
I think you got typoed. I take that to mean serviceability, things that can be repaired. And I disagree. Serviceability should not be considered to be a separate thing from BIFL. It's an essential part of BIFL in most cases. There are some things that will probably never need to be fixed and probably couldn't be in any practical way (cast iron pans come to mind), but in most cases (things like appliances, shoes, bicycles) the ability to repair is what makes something BIFL.

Sebo E3 or D4. We purchased an E3 a few years ago and it's been great. Very easy to maintain and supplies are not too expensive.

I use a basic NINESTARS DZT. Works wonders and hasn't given up on me in nearly five years.

I agree with Kirby. Bought mine used and it still works amazing 10 years later

+1 for corded Miele. I also recommend you consider springing for the powerhead. Best vacuum ever, I've had mine for about 5 years now.

It is. Did you teach yourself how to darn socks, or was it a skill passed down from family?

I have a kirby. Not cordless, but it's a beast. Made in America, too, afaik.

But a backpack vacuum with a 100' extension cord will reach most places, including those hard to reach ones...

Seconded. I use the double knee with a side pocket as work pants and have had pairs last years, but the originals are a slick looking pant with the same construction.

I was looking at Naked & Famous for a while but gave up for two reasons: 1.) I don’t like their overly sexualized and large logo (I wear these to work) and 2.) their fits are jibberish without researching what “Ultra Bro” cut means

Omg they are like 800 dollars......definitely BIFL. I'm definitely considering it though. I am OCD about stuff on my floors. Thanks!

Reply to I've been trying to find a specific type of computer chair. Budget will not be a concern by [deleted]
This is a you question and not one for the internet. Search for chairs using the search engine and you will see the brands we recommend. Visit google and find the retailers near you for an in person fit check and barring that, find a retailer with an acceptable return policy. To my knowledge, zero BIFL chair makers have a 6" seat pad, so you are going to have to find an aftermarket one or get a chair and have one custom made at a local uphostery shop.

You are assuming that a cordless vacuum is the best form factor for cleaning, which is entirely false. You are wanting the best of the worst form factors, so know this up front. If this is you, then you need not ask here as you aren't asking about lifespan which is this sub's charter, go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwtEU6OEdOU and get what you see there.

Use clogs, sandals and crocs most of the time and you won't need socks as much. Saves on laundry too. Just make sure to clean the shoes and your feet often as to avoid stink 🦨

These allow for full mother board and cpu swaps when a new one becomes available. So rather than buying a whole laptop again you can buy individual components.
I don’t have one now because my Lenovo laptop is still doing great but when it eventually where’s out I will probably switch to one of these.

Man. I wish I could do the fair phone. I’m so locked in on iPhone though. I trade mine in when I do get new ones though so I hope apple is committed to recycling them like they say they are.

Yup, Miele's are beasts. I had one at home and work, both have been flawless. Only sold the work one to get an even beastier Festool vacuum so we can vacuum fibreglass and metal shavings off the workshop floor.

Been using a $100 Shark Liftaway for 8 years. No belts or bags, and everything can be taken apart to clean. Their newer self cleaning dual roller models look cool.
