You can't silver solder titanium. It needs to be welded in an oxygen free environment, with something like this. https://sunstonewelders.com/products/micro-tig-welders/orion-s-series-micro-tig-welders

Try Swiftwick socks. I've used these for serious running/cycling (at least 3-4 days a week) and just anything generally active and have never thrown a pair away. Probably had them for 5 years, at least. Plus they do wool, hiking, and more casual socks as well.

That is an excellent idea! I just had to replace both arms on my mother's glasses. Only one was broken but of course they said you have to replace both at the same time so the one that isn't broken won't soon break. I'll do what you suggested next time and save money! Damn I feel dumb...

use an egg slicer for eggs and a mandoline for cutting veggies :) mandolines have a pretty large price range

Come on man not everyone is flush with cash and can buy commercial appliances. My Maytag set is from a Lowe’s Black Friday sale.

Are you a auditor by the way or in QA? Interesting invoking the term objective evidence

Wife is a 30 year optician, go locate an independent optical shop, who offers soldering. The chains (my wife working for one of the largest) will not. They use a jewlery grade silver solder. If no independents in your area, a jewler may be your only choice.

Get one of those OXOs may not last forever but for residential use you should be fine.

What happened? I’m currently wearing a similar lindberg frame. Love them!

If you can’t find a commercial one, the next time you’re at a restaurant that has sliced eggs in one of their dishes, offer the waitress or another low paid employee cash to buy one. I know when I worked food service, I would’ve happily swiped one from the kitchen for you for $20. We had a few, so one missing wouldn’t have been immediately noticed.
Also, only use it for eggs. There are other gadgets meant for slicing veggies, and an egg slicer isn’t one of them.

If its broken in two pieces then you might be able to make threads on both ends and then tighten with a nut.

Use it to cut eggs and it wont break.
They aren’t for “other veggies”. It’s like saying “i’m using my toothbrush as a hammer and it keeps breaking” then thinking you need to buy a stronger toothbrush instead of using a hammer. Buy a mandolin for the veggies. Cut eggs with the egg slicer.

Yeah if they are using the slicer on harder veggies than that is probably what is killing them.

The Miele? Ours were way cheaper than that even outside of the US.

What kind of vegetables? Raw or cooked? The veggies might be killing them. You might try looking for one with blades instead of wires, but even they say only use them on eggs and soft fruit.

Yes. Essentially there is a difference between name brand gas Mobil, Valero, Citco, etc and the Cumberland Farms or Wawa gas.

Buy something built for commercial use, find a place selling restaurant equipment and buy an egg slicer.

If you’re ever in Sydney Australia check out Maplestore. They have 2 locations Newtown and Balmain. I believe there’s flagship stores in NYC and Montreal too. Good luck with your search!

Right??! I probably throw away two pairs a year of my most worn socks. My socks I buy for running and cycling last 5-10 years. I have socks I bought 12 years ago, going strong. Just basic nike athletic socks btw.
