I would definitely recommend OXO over Pyrex or Anchor (or any brand using tempered glass) because they are much less likely to catastrophically fail when exposed to sudden temperature changes. Zwilling also produces borosilicate products as do some smaller brands.
The one benefit of Pyrex's tempered is that they do have a bit more impact resistance than borosilicate, but you sacrifice a HUGE amount of thermal shock resistance for that (and Pyrex's choice to stop using borosilicate is unquestionably one made due to costs.)
The people saying they have had their Pyrex for a gazillion years and they are great...those are borosilicate products from back when Pyrex used borosilicate on the glass they sold to consumers.
How common is it for tempered Pyrex to fail? It's not a common occurrence, but it also isn't a rarity. Further, it has caused some very serious burn injuries and I have personally seen one fail and it is quite violent (admittedly, my fault, but borosilicate almost certainly would not have failed in that situation.)

Some places sell replacement red Anchor lids. (Canadian Tire here). New ones are thicker and shouldn't split so easily this time.

Interesting - in the United States these are tempered and not borosilicate.
I wonder if they have multiple versions of this product elsewhere? (as I know Pyrex now apparently sells very different products in different countries.)

Thanks for the advice! I usually really like my OXO products

I would recommend OXO over Pyrex (and Anchor) because OXO uses borosilicate, which has drastically better thermal shock resistance than the strengthened soda lime glass used by Pyrex (on most of their consumer products), which has the potential to catastrophically fail when exposed to extreme temperature changes.
Additionally, the lid design OXO uses keeps food fresher as it obtains a better seal.

True, but cargo capacity trumped driver comfort. (My grandfather drove a COE OTR for 30 years). If the choice was a 53' trailer and a cab over, or a 48' trailer and a conventional cab, a company is going to choose the cabover every day. For my grandfather that was the difference between hauling 1 piece of equipment or two. (He drove for Case)

Those honestly look perfect. I was hoping for a plastic free option and was only seeing bamboo kids earlier.

Moving the engine out front makes the trucks a lot more comfortable. The interior is more roomy. They are quieter. It’s easier to access the sleeper and with the cab mounted lower there is a lot less sway.

Is there somewhere I can order legit PYREX ?

Costco’s Kirkland button-downs are surprisingly well made. I’d say better than current brooks brothers non wrinkle but not say early aughts brooks brothers. Limited fabric choices but a great value for the money.
Duluth is good but beware the vanity sizing. Their Best Made items are traditionally sized.

YES! Fiesta dishes are beautiful and so so sturdy. Had our set for fifteen years and I don't think we've chipped or broken a single one. I really like the plates that are almost a bowl/plate combo - a plate with the curved sides. Great for things like spaghetti or anything with lots of sauce. Super highly recommend the brand overall.

The anchor hocking lids crack. There are easily ordered silicone replacement lids available, but the original lids are not bifl.

I have glasslock containers that are about 10 years old now. Some of the lids have gone bad due to my carelessness, but they will replace them, just pay (high) shipping. The glass is perfect and has been abused and frozen/baked/dropped whatever.

Pyrex is great. Have had some sets for 10 plus years, nonissue. Have one that is 25/30 years old gets used mostly every other week. Anchor hawking makes well made items as well. Those glass top snap ones, I also have one and it’s great, but I’d imagine with daily use the plastic will eventually break imo

Seconding brooks brothers. I have shirts from them that I got as a high school graduation gift that still fit and look brand new.
They have a variety of fits and patterns.
They are on the expensive side but because they last.

I go with Duluth. As long as I'm diligent about hanging up the shirts just out of the dryer I never seem to need to iron them. I don't like their pants. The fabric in the pockets is lousy.
