The cloud cotton quilt from Parachute is what I use.
Only concern is it may not be warm enough on its own, but I really like it.

Older Pyrex will be borosilicate. Look for the blue green tint on the edge. Change was late 90’s I think. The old stuff is way more durable but I have newer pieces going on 15 years

And it’s not evenly balanced. There’s a heavy side that will mess you up if you aren’t ready for it.

What could possible go wrong with a garbage bin? I've got one at my mom's house that we had for 30 years, and it was some cheapo from K Mart or something.

Dude, you guys manufacture the ever-loving shit out of things! But then there’s the BMW as of a few years ago. What’s going on?!

Right....but what you're forgetting is this is a bin that's been confirmed. So it has more credit in my book then whatever supposed bin you can bring up without a post on this subreddit.

I always buy separates as I don’t use top sheets, so just look for these rather than brands that only sell sets. Then buy an extra pair or two of pillow cases and swap his out daily; use a pillow protector too so it’s not all going through into the pillow.
The other option is to buy a bunch of soft hand towels to lay over the pillow and swap those out daily, it can be more comfortable as it’s more absorbent than a pillow case.

Reply to Newly purchased home. In your opinion, which Winix air purifier model is the overall best? by [deleted]
5500-2 for cost efficiency and the fact that very good aftermarket filters are available that have performance equal to that of OEM.
Do keep in mind though that the 5500-2 and all of the models you noted are mainly going to handle particulate filtration (i.e., they remove particulate matter from their air through mechanical filtration). They will do very little for adsorbing odors, or VOCs, in general, as they have only a small amount of carbon, and they will have no impact on nitrogen oxides, so their chemical filtration capability is, like most purifiers, extremely limited.
None of the Winix models noted are BIFL. AirPura, AllerAir, and Austin Air make products that would be BIFL as these are using stainless steel bodies with commercial grade motors (these are also capable of tackling VOCs as they all use large carbon filters).

I mean, almost every indoor bin can be BIFL… as long as your not smashing it with a hammer.
My $15 bin from the local store is going on 12 years and all it takes is a little dish soap and a rag to clean it and make it look like the day i bought it.
The trick is KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid). Buy something that has the lowest mechanical and electrical complexity for the task you need it to do, and it’s exponentially more likely to outlive you.
A bin with one spring and a plastic latch that keeps the lid open can easily last 50+ years.
Bonus points if you just get a bin with a hinge and a plastic lid that you just manually lift up. Don’t break it and it will never break.
Do not: but a motion sensing auto opening bin with electrical motors and some ridiculous auto refilling bag feature.

Also, some manufacturers will put softeners on the towels before they ship them, so that should be considered when comparing towels at the store by feel, and if they perform poorly at first you might be able to improve them by washing to remove those softeners.

I love German made stuff. My last 3 cars have been German made, still haven't had an engine shit out on me.
The first 2 though, 1 of them some guy in a lifted truck ran over my hood and totalled it. The 2nd one was kinda my fault but a dog ran out in front of me and I swerved off the road into the curb. The curb annihilated my transmission from underneath.
The 3rd one is going strong lol, they are very quiet and have good engines. The 2.5l is great. Suspension is nice too. I just hope some crazy accident doesn't happen again, I've been driving like a grandma and parking far away from people

Almost 20 years in on my IKEA towels and they're just now being pushed to the "backup" instead of "primary" towel set.
