Reply to [Request] Recommendations for a Fast, Low-Maintenance Electric Shaver by Possible_Being_3189
Ok I don’t know if I can quite call it buy it for life YET, but I’ve have a Philips One Blade for about 4 years and it’s great. My wife kept stealing it to shave her legs and we ended up getting her one too. Long battery life. Waterproof (can use in shower), powers through hair, and fairly inexpensive.
Not sure if it’ll last a decade plus but I recommend it. Good luck with choice

It’s a long list. Items I have in my kitchen that I expect to never replace.
Staub/le creuset enameled cast iron Vintage and stargazer/field cast iron skillets Zwilling pro knives Victorinix knives Demeyere proline stainless steel fry pan Mauviel 250Ci skillet and sauté pan All clad d5 stainless steel De buyer crepe pan Lodge cast iron griddle and grill pan
Basically just don’t buy non-stick, but heavy cookware (best performance and durability in general anyways), and invest in at least 1 good chef knife.

They're better, if anything. Just a little pricier than they used to be though by watch pricing standards, they're still dirt cheap.

I love G Shock watches. I just wish they had less words and writing all over them. They look like they are plastered with little signs explaining their features.
I have one that’s pretty minimal, but it took a long time to find and pick out. They are great watches.

I use the Peet Dryer original for my boot dryer, picked it up from tractor supply. Very very happy with it thus far. As far as why I use dish soap: it’s what Whites recommends. I’ll wash with a little dish soap and warm water, allow to dry for a full 24 hours, and then apply Obenauf’s Boot Oil. There’s tons of different methods and products for boot care, but I figured if anyone would know how to care for Whites boots, it’s whites. For the record, 2 years of my time wearing these boots to work was in a limestone mine doing field welding and heavy repair. They hold up.

Best watch ever designed. My last one went for 7 years and I only replaced it because the battery died and was deployed to a place where I couldn’t replace it. Immediately replaced it when I got state side.
Edit: replaced with another G-Shock

Inherited stanley thermoses, hunting/fishing equipment, and cast iron pans. Now they are all my favorite items.

Is it one you’d recommend? The boot dryer that is.
I’m curious too, why the dish soap vs a leather soap?

I’m the same vintage as the thermos and going strong.
I’m an adoptee, a real buy for life deal.

Casio even do refurbishment of the original G-Shock squares every so often, super cool in my opinion. A lot of people shit on cheap quartz watches (and sometimes theyre right) for being disposable, but I don't think that applies to these

If it makes it any better, I do throw them on a boot dryer every night.

My husband is still using his Stanley 38 years later. It looks just a bit better than yours.
