I'm in the sierra, basically just snow / ice or high altitude sun. Have you tried that rainx treatment stuff? I used that in New England and it blew me away. Often didn't even need to use my wipers.

Reply to Recommendations For Bicycle Helmets by Nickodyn
As noted, helmets are not BIFL as they need to be replaced every 3-4 years. Plus safety improvements happen.
There are two authoritative sources that test helmets: Consumers Reports magazine rates them every year or two. And Virginia Tech university tests them regularly. MIPS is a key feature.

- Don’t park in the sun (park in a garage)
- Don’t over wipe.
Blades will last at least 3 years this way.

I had high hopes and they're well rated, I wonder if something's just different for me. I live in Western Washington, it's rare that we have heavy rain but we get tons of mist and light drizzle. The wipers just smear everything for me. Sometimes it seems like the windshield isn't wet enough.

Huh, my rainx ones are doing okay a year in. I might try the silicone ones recommended after these.

Let’s be realistic here: there are no boots that will last you forever that wouldn’t suck to wear

Oreilys if I remember correctly.

I think he meant he orders both wipers at the same time so that he only has to pay shipping once. Rockauto makes you pay shipping everytime, nothing special.

What's he mean by you pay shipping once? Looks like they have great prices but shipping was $26 on wipers, an oil filter and an air filter.

I like Bosch Icon blades. They last 12-18 months in my climate (PNW USA).

Bosch Icons. Check out the Project Farm video as he tested most big brands, and these won out over PIAAs.

I've also consistently had the best luck with OEM blades. My mechanic thinks I'm insane for insisting on Hyundai wipers, but they're the only ones that last for me.

Second for PIAA, Japanese quality, made in Taiwan. Lasts a long time.

I bought a pair last year and the seam in the back ripped apart within literally 3 wears.
ETA: my partner has a pair of docs he bought about 5 years ago now that are still going strong. To me, the quality seems kind of all over the place, but I’m sure you can them repaired or replaced by the store you bought them at.

You HAVE to replace them both at the same time. Michellin or Bosch seems to last me the longest; everything else, how long they last depends on whether or not cats like to chew on them or they dry-rot from a month of no rain.

I've never ordered from rock auto. Like, you only pay shipping on your first order and it's free fir each order after that?

Reply to My Panasonic ER411 nose hair trimmer. by HaliBUTTsteak
Have tried a bunch of different Panasonic ones and none of them compared to the Wahl I currently use. Bonus: the Wahl has different attachments and can trim lots of different types of hair with the same base.
Also, Panasonic has a worthless warranty and rude CS.
