Reply to BIFL Amazon recommendations! by ChikkuAndT
Idk if it’s necessarily BIFL but IMO the only things worth buying specifically from Amazon would be their Amazon Basics products, which are essentially rip offs of already popular items. I bought a paper shredder several years ago which has held up really well. I’d only look to Amazon Basics for those similarly random items that you just need to get the job done rather than things you want to invest in.

It’s a little high. It’s a little camera angle too. After getting professionally fitted, I was told that with setting leather saddles, to tilt the nose no higher than four degrees. This was pre-fit..

I have the same doubt. I want to buy a backpack but I am between Briggs & Riley and Saddleback Leather. I think GORUCK style would not match my style and I could not find RedOxx nor Osprey packs that had many divisions and were able to be used as a personal item when traveling by plane. What do you think about it?

I don’t care how little you sweat, 6 wears between washes on a T-shirt is kinda gross.

Know that Patagonia has different cuts on their different shirts. The responsibili tees have oddly long sleeves. I think the dude in the video might have been reviewing the organic cotton tees? I don’t think he said.

What's the matter with this thing? What's with all that churning and bubbling? You call that a Radar Screen?

It's actually a Kent Brushes SPC80 comb. I actually spent the better part of an hour finding it online, but it was that distinctive beige packaging that pointed me in the right way. No forgetting that royal seal of approval.
Definitely gifting my brother a Chicago comb after he gets back from his trip to Turkey :)

Theres not much BIFL about amazon, maybe some brands are on there but their business model of mass consumption is pretty much antithetical to BIFL

Reply to Clothing made from blend of wool and synthetic? by redditjoda
Its common for wool shirts to be blended with around 15% nylon. I think its for durability and cost. The more expensive brands (Pendleton ,etc) are 100% wool and are still preferable IMO.
