And what a lot of coffee snobs don't get is that, a lot of people like their specific coffee, even if it is poorly brewed. Nostalgia, comfort, and repeated "exposure" can make even awful drinks taste amazing.

I say this as someone who has spent way too much time and money on coffee. I just have a soft-spot for gas station coffee. I don't mean the stiff sheetz has with tons of options and stored in containers that won't burn it. It's the ones that use like 3 home coffee makers and all of them are solid brown on the bottom from burnt coffee. I'd go for that over my pour over every day of the week.

Instead get better utility knife blades. Like, you can get carbide tipped ones. They're not cheap but they really hold an edge. No - and really no - normal knife will hold an edge as well. Carbide is crazy hard but brittle. Any regular knife with non-replaceable blades will have a carbide edge - because it can occasionally shatter and you can't really sharpen it.

So if you want a crazy sharp knife that holds an edge and is used for industrial tasks, that's the only route I'd look at, anything else will require way more maintenance and will never perform as well.

I slept on the floor for a couple years on a fold out foam pad, basically 3 cushions sewn together similar to this but without the memory foam layer. Foam was about 4 inches thick and I didn't bottom out at all, was around 150lbs at the time. Slept very comfortably.

If you're really tight on space, take a look at sleeping pads for camping. There are some roll ups that are made of pretty advanced materials you could potentially sleep on without problems.

Frankly, though, if there might be cockroaches or pets roaming around, I might instead sacrifice some space to use a cot frame with some DIY roll out slats under a pad. Edit: you can buy roll up slats.

If you can afford them Detroit Denim is where it’s at. Traditional selvedge that just starts hitting its stride after a full year of wear. Free lifetime repairs and alterations. Constructed like a brick sh*thouse. And seems about as ethical as a company gets these days. I have a blue pair that I love and a black pair being made now, I fully plan on these being only jeans I buy for the next decade or more. They’re that good.

Get yourself one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GLCBVDP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and fill it with these:

The blades are a lot cheaper per unit if you buy them in larger quantities but they will last far longer than your standard utility blades.

Not an expert at all here, but I just bought the first one you linked. I really wish it had more padding and I really wish it was a little more comfy. I ended up blowing up an old air mattress and putting this in top, which made it the most comfy thing I've slept on the floor with. Not a long term solution tho.

My suggestion: look at a Shikibuton. This a traditional Japanese floor style mattress that has been in use for centuries. Really research it. The even have memory foam ones. Make a better decision than I did :)
