My mom does a pineapple and shredded carrot cake with a buttermilk glaze that is incredible.

Reply to SPEED QUEEN WASHERS; Are they worth it? Which model would be recommended for a large family, which does multiple loads of laundry a day. Doesn’t have to be fancy. It seems people choose SQ for their reliably, and quality, not because of the bells and whistles, or lack thereof… Thanks for any input!! by KaiBaird
These are all YOU questions, not ones for the internet.
Worth is a Venn Diagram featuring your Desire and your Budget. Neither of these values we know. Buy them or don't.
Which model is another you question. Speed Queens suck in sizing, but can make up for it in speedy cycle times. But if you think you are throwing a king size anything into one....yeah no.

Reply to My Grandmother’s oven, circa 1966. Many holiday meals were cooked with love here, right up until the day she passed. Aside from one shattered glass door that was replaced, everything still works! by _Mr_Roboto_
Someone had an Imperial model that they posted maybe four years ago. It's neat to see the differences.
This one looks like your grandma used the heck out of it. That's awesome.

My mom had the Tappan version of this. I thought the burners were in a drawer that pulled out

I rented a place w one of these. Not a problem I ever had. They open up and slide in at the same time so get right out of the way.

Tough to get the turkey out of the oven with a big pot of mashed potatoes on the stove, but the retro look is awesome!

I have the TC5. I really like it. I don’t notice that it’s any tougher on clothes than my last top loader (I’ve never had a front loader). It’s built like a tank and I love how short the cycles are.

This does seem like a peculiar buy for an 18 year old. Makes me wonder what other strange buys you’ve made over the years.

Reply to comment by Professional-Menu835 in My first potato peeler (Sparschäler) I got this Sparschäler 10 years ago already used by my grand mother. It is still a mass product and you can buy it for round about 5 USD. But this one is made in West Germany so at least 33 years old and almost daily in use. by Secundus_Scipio
American here. Any potato product tastes better if the skins are left on—fries, mashed taters, hash browns. Maybe not gnocchi but I wouldn’t be shocked.

Same. I was reading it and wondering why Kartoffeln isn’t in the name.

Birkenstocks are the gold standard. Had a pair back in my early 20’a that lasted 10 yrs. Getting a pair for this summer myself.
EDIT: I had what would be considered the classic footbed and this is what I'll be buying again. I can't speak for the soft footbed or extra grip footbed options, but someone else on here may have experience with them, +ymmv.

Oh! That's the top and the inside is the cooking surface! I was just looking at the photo and thinking that looks nasty. The inside looked way better

I have the same one that I got with credit card reward points 30 years ago, it's still in near mint condition and we use it a few times a week.

This looks similar to mine, is it a General Motors product?
