I just bought one of these as I was sick of the glass leaking in the other ones I'd buy, built like a tank.
I bought the gold tho cuz I'm fancy.

where we’re going, we don’t need meters.

I’ve got another 20-30 years of being a woman before sheets can be considered BIFL. Too much anxiety otherwise.

Ikea of all places sells one without any plastic. It's glass and metal. The packaging is even plastic free. It was relatively cheap around ~$15 or so.

Also heating any plastic releases DNA damaging compounds. Never heat plastic with your food.

Yeah forgot about that. A drizzle of BBQ for that extra tang or one of your choosing. Don't forget the cheese

When I first got my set, they were really stiff, like thick tablecloths. After washing a few times though, now they’re really soft, somewhere between a very light flannel and a soft linen. They’re definitely not like your typical crisp percale though.

My parents have a glass French Press that has been used most weekends since the late 1980s. It is named Garçon D’or.

Cuddledown Temperature Regulating Synthetic Fill Comforter. They have a mesh square at the intersection of each quilted square. Warmer then my thin cotton quilt. Comes in three weights.

Any recs? I’ve been looking but the only actual vacuum insulated ones are around £100, which is fine but want to make sure I’m getting the value out of it

I never knew there was such a thing as a stainless steel french press. I did a quick research and there's a stove top one from Stanley for almost half the price of the Gator and it's double walled which means the coffee will stay hot for longer.
After had gone through more than half a dozen of glass ines I think it's time to switch to something like this.

An Outback Red shirt I bought in the 80s. Still in perfect shape with the original buttons. I also have an Armstrong flute I played in school in the 70s. It was a hand-me-down from my uncle. Probably the oldest things I have are battered first editions of some of the early OZ books. The kids in my mother's family apparently loved them, and they all ended up with me.

I have some of these. I have the towels, the quilt, the bedsheet, and the mattress sheet/cover and I like them all. They are just expensive.

I wasn't sure about the material either, so I bought a set of pillowcases during a "Seconds" sale. They made me a believer.

Honestly the sacrifices needed to make durable sheets are not ones I'm willing to make.
For me it's high thread count long staple cotton or bust . This will after some years start to fall apart.

My father has one of these somewhere. Are they worth anything? Beyond him not really using it much the last two decades, it would be a shame for it to get tossed instead of passed on to a collector who might use it.

I also have the Secura from Amazon (which is the exact same as OP and lots of other french presses) and I'm pretty sure I'll never have to buy another french press again

I have the same model, only it’s matte pink. When i was picking one out online, the pink option was $15 less. Just because it was pink. Works great.
