I have the exact same tulip design on mine. Even the cord-reel still works flawlessly. It’s quite a wonderful little device.

Same here. Bought mine from the Goodwill seven years ago for $0.25, been working perfect since.

I picked up a really nice one at a garage sale for $5. It's probably going to outlast me.

Wish I could give this more TU. Serviceability matters when it comes to BIFL.

Good question. This is my “work pen”, so it only travels certain places. When I attend a meeting outside my office, I only have a few personal effects with me and they are easier to track. Thats the best explanation I can give.
I lose sunglasses all the time but that’s because I take them to restaurants, bars, visiting friends and relatives etc etc. Many more places than the pen will ever see, so more opportunity to forget or misplace them. Dont get me wrong, I’ve forgotten this pen a few times but was lucky enough to recover it. But, I usually knew where to look.

Just about anything Zojirushi, really. They have an outstanding coffee maker as well.

Yeah, I guess this turned out to be a two-for-one post!

Mine is about 12 years old, still cooks but rice goes bad in about 12 hours, before used to be good for almost 3 days. Either there's some bacteria/fungi hidden in some unknown crevice I can't clean, or the temperature/humidity sensor has gone bad and it doesn't maintain it in the safe zone.

I got a Parker 26C witgh some nice blades that would last me a lifetime. The only problem is I have a beard and don't actually want to shave it off.

I wouldn't worry about the tarnish. The dishwasher will take care of it.

I got downvoted elsewhere for saying they're superior to every other waterproof boot I've ever tried. I have a pair going strong still, after 5 years. They do need a quality insole though; I like cork. Source: am a stream biologist and spent literally 20 years standing in water.

Yes, and it hasn't helped unfortunately. I haven't had an issue when cooking larger quantities, but rarely cook over 2 cups with it being only my wife and me.

My Mum had the same one, I wouldn't be surprised if that was still going too!
I was speaking to someone the other day about how Parker quality has plummeted. I bought one the other year and it was absolutely terribly made.

Dumb question but are these over-boots like wearing a tennis shoe along with them or just stand alone?

I figured it wasn't great for the knives, but I honestly don't see myself hand washing them as long as my dishwasher exists.

Agreed I bought a Zojirushi rice cooker back in 2020. I now refuse to ever go back to cheaper models. Plan to use the current one until at least 2045 if not longer hopefully.
Now the lions share of my small kitchen appliances are Zojirushi. They all work great and seem built to last. Even if they aren't made in Japan anymore as unfortunate as such is.
