I was just going to say that in my post. For people that care they likely have what they like. For those that don't they will think an expensive pen is a strange thing to get. There is so much variations in something like that this that anyone that writes a lot will have figured this out. Someone who write a lot will likely have tried different options. SO they have already figured out what they like. Someone with minimal understadning thinks a pen is a pen. They don't understand different ink types or that it is very specific as what I like you won't and vice versa.
That all being said I grabbed a parker jotter with a gel refill in it and it writes really nice. I ended up putting it in my Rotring 600 for a bit to test it out. But again this is where personal preference comes in. My wife didn't like it as she likes a finer pen and I don't. I am a fan of something like the Pentel Energel in feel and thickness and the 0.7mm version of the parker jotter gel feels and looks a lot like that if you have used one.

Sangean has a line of portable AM/FM radios that are the same footprint as the old '50s ones. They've been in the radio biz a long time.

I live near a church “goodwill” and they have these hangers for like $0.25
I buy them up whenever they are available. Slowly replacing my plastic hangers with sturdy wood ones.

they don't really make modern transistor radios from what I understand.
this is probably the most high end pocket radio

this is probably the best budget AAA battery radio that functions like a transistor radio

I think I’ll retire before I use up the extra refills I have but thanks for the recommendation!

Walmart.com. prices from $11.99 up. The Panasonic for $39.99 looks nice.
My search at walmart.com was am/fm radio

Solid. I personally use the Fisher space pen refills. Then I have a clicky pen that writes upside down and on paper w/ grease/oil spots

My granny crocheted sleeve-style covers that fit over old wooden hangers. Pretty sure the ones I have are from the 50s/60s. I’ve picked up those suit hangers at garage sales over the years. No more plastic hangers!!!

It's definitely not from the 70s as you can see the stock number has 01 for the year. But it does look like a prototype urban camo that was based on the m81 woodland pattern, you are very lucky as this is an extremely rare jacket.
More info in this video.

I have a few of these from my Papas stash. He also wore a lot of slick suits. They are great for my coats

Reply to I live in Sweden. I’m tired of my happy socks being unhappy all the time after only wearing them 3 months or so. Anyone recommend some durable socks for normal activity day to day use? (available in EU) by P0llydog
I love cute socks too, but often find they fall into “fast fashion” and don’t last. Socks are my go-to footwear in my house; I lose my slippers all the time. Sounds like you have great suggestions, especially the socks made domestically, not fast fashion and made to last.

I try to thrift these and the satin plush kinda hangers. They are much better quality and clearly last forever!

I bought a preowned Zojirushi rice cooker, that the previous lady had neglected. I took it home, cleaned it up, and even took it apart to clean it from top to bottom.
Went from a tired looking rice cooker, to one that is almost brand new. It was oddly satisfying too seeing it from something that was neglected to something worthy of a spot on the kitchen counter.

Like OP, my family has three National rice cookers. Still using them after 30+ years.

This is so cool. I keep coming back to this sub to look at the features & design. I love the multi-oven/warmers at eye level.

When we bought a house, the seller left unneeded boxes. They had been brought home from a pizza chain restaurant. For heavy bags of cheese or sauce. Absolute tanks. I recycled most of the boxes from moving, but kept every pizza box.

It’s possible to misalign any thread, the secret is to turn it left until it clicks into place and then turn it right to tighten it down. Works with every type of material and every thread spacing/size, I learned this from an old auto mechanic years ago and it hasn’t let me down.

It varies, but yes. They have some very good boxes. They also use boxes for customer purchases, so some can be cranky at the question.

This is the way. Much sturdier due to holding glass. Most stores are small enough where they pitch them without a story policy/recycling bin.
