To be fair if the potato peeler was clean I could see it being fine. But yeah rusted shit is exactly that.

The advantage with liquor boxes is that they're often smaller, and don't turn into 75lb behemoths like the 20" cube moving boxes can.

Reply to I live in Sweden. I’m tired of my happy socks being unhappy all the time after only wearing them 3 months or so. Anyone recommend some durable socks for normal activity day to day use? (available in EU) by P0llydog
SMARTWOOL! Available in Europe and worth the money. They will keep your feet cozy and warm and they are versatile to use for multiple occasions.
If you want socks that last a lifetime, if you can find them on Amazon buy three pairs of either smartwool or Darntough socks.
Darntough > Smartwool but can be tricky to find in Europe sometimes.
Try bergfreunde

Hahahaha. Had one back in the 80s. Lasted six months before we threw it out because it is bad at it's job. Wouldn't open lots of cans, but worse was that it would drop the cans from cabinet height when about half way open.

Outstanding recommendations! My roommate gets chewy products on a subscription, so that's perfect.

Seriously, what’s up with the people in this sub posting their old cheap gross garbage that any normal human would have thrown out decades ago.
This place is supposed to be about helping people buy high quality products that will last.
Not about bragging about a disgusting 50 yr old potato peeler of all things. Sheesh
I hope this was just a joke post

I don't really get the buzz around electric can opener, It's pretty easy with a manual one, and a very good manual one that will probably last 20+ years is what, 20$?

Totally. Maybe 2/3 of the book is useless unless you're really into prepping or something, but the other 1/3 is worth the price by itself. It walks you through all the programming options, gives you a list of all the standard walkie talkie and general communications frequencies, explains how to build an antenna, and how to make a repeater out of 2 radios.

BIFL doesn’t mean buy it forever and I think we sometimes confuse the two.

I'd go looking for the little pots. I think your's is the same size as mine. We just make single serving soups with it which is why it's so great. Forinstance ATM I'm thinking I do in fact feel like a little nourishment. I'm going to spend about 1 minute and make some tom yum soup. If you go to china town in any suitably large city, or really any Chinese type grocery store, you'll find these little double lid ceramic glazed pots. We do have a bigger one that takes up almost the entire tatung. I used that to cook ribs and it was pretty damn perfect.
Our smaller ones are the perfect size. We actually bought one for a friend of our's that is even smaller and fits in her instant pot.

Avoid the 10 cup nickel finish stainless steel cooker. They have the paper heating element that will go bad in a couple of years. Only way to get replacement part is in Taiwan.

I haven't used this one for anything as complex, but my grandma used a larger one for hot pot. This one is much smaller than the normal red sided one, so you can't cook a lot in it. I use it mainly for rice and as a steamer for literally anything.

Let me know if this works. I have never had an electric can opener work more than a year. I have got a couple of old vintage one from thrift stores that gave out almost immediately.

I would absolutely not spend 500$ on a piece of luggage I don't even know if I'll need to use regularly. I would look into second hand pieces or a backpack from somewhere like Osprey instead
