Maine let residents get anything they wanted on license plates for a while. It was super trashy and rednecky. They just started enforcing certain rules again.

I lived there for like 3/4 months a few years ago and bought a car and registered it there. Its 25 for a vanity plate, I was trying to get “polack” but they blocked it so settled for “kilbasa” lol

I'm not denying it can be funny, because it definitely can be. But having a license plate like PUSSYDR or BUKKAKI or what have you is real trashy, too.

I just visited this summer and don't plan to go back again anytime soon haha. I was around Portland and it was decent, but it also mostly felt like a less interesting, more dirtbag Cape Ann.
