Don’t get me wrong. The speed of their fiber service was exceptional but the outage tainted any good feeling I had. I told the service tech on the phone that there was a frontier car down the street (true) and if they could just swing by and change out the non working fiber connection. They said they were on a schedule and couldn’t interfere with prior service calls, which I respected. The fact that they wanted me to wait two days with no internet or tv (YouTube TV) was insane.

First of all, I dont get to decide who gets prosecuted. I'm not going to get involved in that.

Secondly - you are a mean person, a sociopath if you fantasize killing children like that. I hope if you have kids you dont punish them with violence and the "spare the rod, spoil the child" bullshit.

Do you go to church on Sundays?

Have a nice day, tough guy.

Newer routers that are equipped with WiFi 6E allow for this type of speed. Usually need to be on the 6 GHz band, but the range on that is short compared to 5 GHz. Also, I think 6 GHz wifi on phones/laptops started becoming mainstream within the past year or so.

A long time ago when I rented in NJ, my rent was raised. There was a rule that it couldn't be more than 5% additional a year to what I was paying, the previous year. Maybe your town in CT has a similar rule? I know Enfield does not have a rule like that, but in NJ it was a town-by-town stipulation.

Back when that song first came out, my mother had just gotten one of those fm radio/police scanners. She could never get the police scanner to work, because we lived in an unincorporated town with no police department.

This song came on one day, and when she heard the part of the song with sirens, she was convinced it was the scanner. 13 yr old me could not convince her that a police scanner wasn't just police sirens.

Say you’ll cancel your service subscription if they don’t give you the package you want.

That usually works. More than 75% of the time, I’d say.

Their call center policy is to haggle with you to try and keep you as a customer.

Ask other people in your local area and use them as a bargaining chip. Point out that your neighbor has the package and price point that you want. Ask why they can get that price and package, but why can’t you?

I genuinely don’t get it. There are assholes everywhere. Yet reading the state subs, there seems to be this intense hatred for CT in particular in northern New England. Yet I don’t personally know a single person who doesn’t love and appreciate the state of Maine and treat it - all of it, its natural areas, its residents, the towns - as a respectful guest should when they’re there. Same with VT and NH. Who are these people from CT who are going around giving us such a bad reputation? Most of us are just normal people living our lives.

Also I don’t know where this idea comes from that CT is all Yankees fans. The majority of people I know are Pats, Sox and Bruins fans. Maybe it’s just the part of CT I’m from.

We don’t agree. These kids need punishments for the crimes. They can be “rehabilitated” but not without consequences. You seem to advocating for no consequences. To just let them steal, rob, without the fear of ever facing consequences. Which is far more damaging. There is help for the kids doing this. But not for you.

You’re demanding others get stolen from and just deal with it for now until we can find a solution that may not even exist. I’d rather protect myself, my family, and the neighborhood kids from you than the criminals jacking cars. They can be rehabilitated or put in a position to learn a lesson, positively or negatively sometimes. Your mentality is far more damaging and dangerous.

What causes crime? Like societal factors or malignant narcissism, anti social personality disorder, etc. Are you suggesting this is race based or income based, or what? It sounds like you have a victim mentality that you project onto others. You may not be committing crimes but the people that do are victims?

Oh you’re going to end crime? I didn’t know. It’s been such a long time. Thanks. In which branch of Us state government are you in to enact these legislative miracles?

I did a lot of volunteer work in the late 90s/2000s, up until about 2009. I repainted the the Boys and Girls club years ago and other odds and ends when it was behind the North End prison. I worked with PAL. A lot of stuff. Believe me, you’re not ending crime anytime soon. Not by throwing them in jail, not by ignoring it, not by advocating that the criminal is the victim. But remain in your fantasy if that’s what keeps you comfortable
