Eversource does not make any profit off of delivery supply. They have to pay for the 6 months of gas the state requires them to purchase at a time.

I'm all for fuck Eversource, but you're ignoring two fact. They have 6-month long contracts for gas and they bought at X price. And they do not get any revenue from the actual delivery supply of the gas / electricity.

You can take a train from basically any town in Fairfield (including new Canaan and Wilton as they have spurs that connect them to the metro north) and pretty much any town in Fairfield will all of your boxes excluding diversity (but that doesn’t mean they aren’t welcoming for all). It would help to understand why you are leaving nyc and what you hope to have here that you don’t have there as well to place a good fit better. I made the move couple years ago

Sump pump has been running the past day, it started(at least the earliest we noticed) last night.

I don't remember the pump ever running in January before.

Always start outside, the work your way inside. First, gutter drainage-make sure it’s taking the water as far away from the house you can get it, in a direction the gravity doesn’t bring the water back towards the house. Which leads to your second point of action, grading. The dirt should always slope away from your house. Pretend the ground doesn’t absorb water-if you were to pour out a pitcher of water, which way would the water flow? You always want the ground graded, or slanted, down from the house. Next, it’s start getting expensive-digging the dirt out from against your foundation, installing my waterprooofing, backfilling with drainage stone. If you’re still getting water, it’s likely a water table issue, which means interior curtain drain and sump pumps.

The towns in the Greater Danbury area (Northern Fairfield County) are very nice and fit most of your criteria; Ridgefield, Brookfield, Bethel and Newtown to name a few places. They’re just over an hour from NYC, have excellent schools and community feel, and offer a great value if you don’t need to commute into the city every single day.
