Whomever wrote this article has never been to LA. There is nothing like I-5 on a Friday in the summer, it's like actual hellmouth opened, and forced you understand that pain is real, and you will never leave this eldritch horror of unspeakable, twisting congestion. It's the actual representation of the highway to hell.

I lived in LA for many years. LA is worse. Plus when you get off the highways the traffic doesn't stop.

First, all the breweries fill growlers. But my vote closish to the area you are looking for would be Alvarium and New Park.

Exactly. There’s no comparison. CT have slowdowns and some periods of standstill. LA highways are massive parking lots most of the time.

LA traffic when I lived there in like '06 was magnitudes worse than CT traffic in '23.

Reply to Why does CT only have oval tracks or kart tracks, I feel like it would be good to have a grand prix style track for racing by toasty_boi12345678
Thompson, Lime Rock, Palmer, all road courses, plenty of clubs to track with… MassTuning, SCDA, Audi club, BMW club, etc. Palmer does open track on some Fridays I believe where you can pay and have several sessions within your experience group.

Why would politicians with shorter terms be less self serving? If anything, knowing they're going to go right back to their private sector company in a couple years give them even more motivation to represent that company's interests.

Wouldn’t it effectively be the same here with more lanes? Induced demand?

The elimination of entrenched, corrupt and bureaucratic career politicians who make self serving decisions while in office.

Fun details: the Merritt was built to relieve congestion on Route 1. The expressway that became I-95 was built to relieve congestion on the Merritt.
Route 1 remains quite congested.

I've seen pics of traffic in LA. Bpt to Stamford is terrible during rush hour. Going north is fine in the morning, south is fine in the afternoon.
No way it's as bad as LA. They have 6 lanes on both sides and still doesn't move.

Bob's or Keiths in Middletown are both great guys. Keith tends to be busier bc his shop is small.
And fwiw... brakes are pretty easy. If you can't do it yourself (you can), any mechanic is going to be able to do it for you. Just get a couple quotes and pick whoever.

If you want to register for a course, you need to be waiting at 11:59PM to sign up at midnight the day registration opens. I signed up for a class recently and was successful doing this. Class filled quickly within a few minutes of midnight.

I dunno, last time I went that placed was PACKED. It's always mentioned in any 'best of' threads I see. And well deserved.
I'm always surprised how many people still have never heard of New Park. Whenever I mention it someone is always like, 'where's that?' And I'll be like 😳.
